Democracy or Consumption?

By Papagjitë Per Ber.- Noa Gazetale Zviceranë i Thanese Dhemtirai [?] The Albanian has always attached great importance to appearance. So it was in the first days of pluralism as well. The few shops that were turned from warehouses into modern stores, with lights and lamps, tempted him greatly, but that was only a momentary illusion. People are increasingly understanding that consumption is not democracy. Democracy is much more than that. Now they are clearly distinguishing the difference between a free state and a crowded shop window. This article raises the question of whether what is being sought is democracy or merely consumption, and it sets real social needs against the superficial appearance of the market. The text is partly illegible in the left column and some words are unclear.[?]
