Yesterday in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Conference began, in which our country is taking part for the first time. At the opening ceremony, heads of state and delegations from various Islamic countries were present. The Albanian delegation is headed by the President of the Republic, Mr. Sali Berisha. As part of this visit, President Berisha held meetings with senior figures of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and of the Islamic Conference. The importance of expanding Albania’s relations with Arab and Muslim countries was emphasized, as well as the support they can provide for our country’s economic recovery.
