NEXHMIA HOXHOJET FOR 764192 LEK FOR APPROPRIATION OF STATE PROPERTY AND FOR 121789 LEK MISUSE
This morning the criminal trial against the defendant Nexhmije Hoxha was held in Tirana. She is accused of the criminal offenses of misuse of state property on a large scale and appropriation of state property.
She is accused of stealing a large sum of money from the State Bank for her own benefit and that of her family, for the purchase of goods, equipment and items, with large expenditures from the Reception Directorate in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the PPSH, causing economic damage to the state.
At yesterday’s trial, prosecutors, defense attorneys and witnesses took part. The relevant records were read and financial documents were presented for the expenses made over the years. The hearing mentioned furnishings, clothing, food supplies, purchases of household items, imported goods and various payments made with state funds.
The prosecution requested punishment in accordance with the relevant provisions, arguing that the damage caused amounts to 764192 lek for appropriation of state property and 121789 lek for misuse. The defense disputed part of the claims and requested consideration of the circumstances.
The case continued with questioning of the defendant and examination of the evidence. The hearing was followed with great public interest.
Ceremony of the ranks of the public order forces
President Berisha takes part
This morning the parade of the new forces of the police service was held today in the Palace of Congresses. There were 300 uniformed officers serving in the protection of public order, from the ranks of the anti-crime service and other important bodies for the state, the government and the intelligence agency. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Mr. Sali Berisha, members of the government, senior officials of the Ministry of Public Order and of other structures.
In the official speech, the importance of the public order service, commitment to the law and the protection of citizens was emphasized. President Berisha greeted the personnel and praised their duty in the conditions of transition.
At the end, a ceremonial parade of the forces present was held.
Albania and Croatia confirm peace in the Balkans
It was an important meeting in the context of regional developments. In the talks held, the parties expressed their willingness for cooperation, good neighborliness and political coordination on issues related to stability in the Balkans. It was emphasized that the peoples of the region need peace and political solutions to conflicts.
The representatives also discussed bilateral relations, economic development, cultural contacts and cooperation in international organizations.

Serb chauvinism cannot stop it with coercive measures
