Yesterday morning, in the Hall of the National Museum, where the "Earth Day" event was taking place, the President of the Republic, Mr. Sali Berisha, also spoke about the government of Mr. Aleksandër Meksi, highly praising the efforts, initiative and reforms of this government. Afterwards, before leaving, President Berisha answered journalists’ questions. In response to journalists’ questions about how he assessed the formation of the new government after the 22 March elections, President Berisha said that Mr. Meksi’s government had taken on a heavy burden and had made great strides to open Albania to the world and the world to Albania. According to him, Albania was entering the path of economic, political and cultural integration with Europe. The President stressed that this government had made major efforts to establish relations with democratic countries and to secure international aid. He praised the economic reform and the steps taken to build democratic institutions. Speaking about the political situation, the President said that the country needed stability and institutional responsibility. He underlined the importance of cooperation with the outside world and of strengthening the democratic order in the country.

TIRANË, 4 March. - At the meeting held on 2 March between the Albanian delegation and officials of the German Foreign Ministry, as well as representatives of political and economic circles, developments in Albania were discussed at length. The German side emphasized its support for democratic processes, economic reform and institutional stabilization in the country. The talks also addressed possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation, technical assistance and investment.
