VITI I III I BOTIMI Nr. 403 1 korrik 1993

OF THE PD PARLIAMENTARY GROUP

The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, by a decision taken and voted on for non-participation in today's plenary session, decided as follows: 1. The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party notes that since the vote in parliament on the state of emergency, in complete violation of the rules of procedure of parliament as well as the legal constitutional procedures, the opposition has been carrying out a destructive political activity in relation to the normal work of parliament. 2. The opposition's destructive political activity reached its peak today. Using the most unscrupulous means, with open physical threats against deputies of the Democratic Party, it prepared and decided to implement an obstructionist and mafia-style scenario. It mobilized and concentrated itself in the premises of parliament with the sole aim of preventing its normal functioning. 3. This blockade and the threats made participation in today's session by deputies of the Democratic Party impossible and unacceptable under the present conditions. 4. By deciding not to take part in today's plenary session, the Democratic Party wishes to make it clear that, under conditions of all-round destabilization organized by the opposition and its communist extreme, it cannot become part of the political farce nor assume the burden of responsibility for the country. 5. Any use of force against parliament and its deputies by anyone whatsoever will receive the response it deserves from the law and public opinion. Tirana, 30.06.1993

DECLARATION OF THE LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE OF THE ALBANIAN REPUBLICAN PARTY

[?] the issue, freedom, the President, the elected representatives, to protect people's lives, to preserve constitutional order and legality. Freed from the prejudices of the PPSH, democratic governance under pluralism will continue regardless of any temporary obstacle. The leadership of the Leadership Committee of the Albanian Republican Party, gathered today in Tirana on 30.06.1993, examined with responsibility the current situation, which is precipitating toward chaos and the country's involvement in destabilization, through the creation and proclamation of the so-called technical government and extra-parliamentary rule. This movement, encouraged by unclear anti-national forces, by the remnants of the communist regime and other left-wing forces, is seriously endangering the independence of the institutions of the pluralist state and is leading the country toward civil confrontation. The Albanian Republican Party considers that the pressing problems facing the country cannot be solved by such paths, but only deepened. PRSH supports the President of the Republic in his constitutional duty and calls on the political forces, public opinion, and the international factor not to allow the destabilization of Albania.
