POLITICAL FAILURE OF THE LEFTIST EXTREMISTS AND THE SALE OF FATOS NANO

- After two failures to extend the autumn session, the SP decided to postpone the General Council meeting to 5 September. However, F. Nano’s report says that the party’s grassroots organizations favor the meeting with the Central Council and the plenum to analyze the party’s grave situation. In short, all the claims of the so-called alternative forum for the SP[?] are part of Mr. Nano’s ethic of putting his "head" forward as the only savior of the young communists. - At the Gjirokastër conference, F. Nano openly declared: "I did not present a political platform, but a political statement." This means that for the man who raised the thesis of a "new mandate" in order to avoid a confrontation with the opposition. If it had been a platform, it would have appeared in the newspaper too. He made this statement to conceal the essence of the open conflict within the SP. This constitutes proof that Mr. Nano is playing the postponement card. - The SP conference in Tirana described Mr. Nano’s report as a mild political statement, enough to calm the structures, but not to solve the crisis. Criticism from other circles showed that the party base is divided and that the center is trying to avoid a full political debate. - All maneuvers to gain time have failed. Mr. Nano is trying to present himself as the man who holds the party together and at the same time as the one who is preparing "renewal." However, this tactic cannot hide the fact that the clash within the SP has deepened. - In this context, the delay of the General Council meeting is no longer seen as a solution, but as proof that the current leadership lacks the courage to face the dissatisfaction of the base. Fatos Nano’s report, according to delegates’ comments, brought neither an analysis of the crisis nor political responsibility. - The article continues by emphasizing that unclear positions, the lack of a clear platform, and personal savior rhetoric amount to a political failure of the extreme left and a compromising of Fatos Nano’s image.

This cannot be interpreted as interference, but as a national and state responsibility for the separated part of the Albanian nation. In this context, President Rugova’s position is presented as a political and moral point of reference. Respect for the peaceful struggle of the people of Kosovo and the demand for self-determination are in line with democratic principles and international human-rights documents. The article emphasizes that Albania, as the mother state, has not only the right but also the duty to be concerned about the situation in Kosovo, to condemn violations, and to seek international support for resolving the Albanian question in the former Yugoslavia.

FINALLY, A REAL NAME IN ZP

(ASH?) I am writing to you in the hope that through this letter my voice, but above all my wife’s, will reach your ears. I am one of those formerly interned people who know the hardships of life firsthand, but who believe that the state should find a more humane solution for those who have been left behind. There has often been talk about "ZP" and about the promises made to families in need. But the reality has been disappointing. Much was said, much was expected, but the real name was missing. Now, at last, it seems that a real name is being presented in ZP, and this has sparked hope among many people. I ask that the situation of poor families, the persecuted, the unemployed and the disabled be taken into account. We need no more slogans, but concrete actions. If this name means a real turning point in social policy, then it will be welcomed with understanding by citizens. Respectfully, JAKUP PRELI

New frauds of "ZP". Tolena nda[?] crime - "Democracy" for the opposition 2!

The dense forest of the Albanian opposition in these days shows internal polarizations and attempts to manipulate public opinion. Part of the debate is tied to what is called "ZP," where, according to the author, false promises and new frauds have been produced. The article deals with a case rumored as "Tolena nda[?] crime" and with the way some media present the issue as proof against the opposition. According to the analysis, the term "democracy" is being used in a propagandistic way to attack political opponents.
