Deep gratitude to the European Community and Mr. Marcinnini Camia
Speech by Mr. Sali Berisha at the ceremony of dispatch on 13 June 1993
M. Camia...
[RA 061033] Distinguished Mr. candidate Camia, Ladies and gentlemen. The ambassadorial council of the European Community and the Albanian team, together with Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Tomorri, made every effort to create the conditions for aid to arrive as quickly as possible and to help Albania as much as possible in these difficult days. The truth is that we have little discipline in our administration, but this in no way diminishes the contribution made by the European Community, its representatives and, in particular, Mr. Camia. In these decisive years for the Albanian nation, the European Community has stood by us not only with material aid, but also with political and moral support. Albania is emerging from a long period of isolation and sacrifice. The Albanian people are grateful to their European friends who have helped them in the most difficult days. At this ceremony I wish to express my high appreciation for the dedication, seriousness and honesty shown by Mr. Camia in carrying out his duty. This aid and this cooperation are proof of a sincere friendship that is beneficial for the European future of our country.
