OBJECTIONS to the election campaign in PDSH

OBJECTIONS to the election campaign in PDSH At first Lamboh wrote that Pj, Sokol Gjinushi and the commitment to its program[?]. The leadership of PDSH has drawn up its past program, while PS is convinced that it will be a right-wing party, and that only through this path and with this policy will it be the winner in these elections as well. The defeat of PDSH on 31 March came as an expression of a sincere reality and of its responsibility, and at the same time draws a mature conclusion. Naturally, the strength of PDSH could not be measured by spontaneous movements and momentary moral surges. It is a party with a new political experience and with a structure that is being formed in opposition. Its program needs to be discussed carefully, analyzed with attention, and grounded in clear social interests. Faced with this, the upcoming elections require political clarification, a leading figure, and an organizational spirit. If PDSH manages to create a convincing alternative, it can become an important factor in Albanian parliamentary life. The internal debate over candidacies, forums and leadership structures is an unavoidable part of the process. In this respect, competition within the party can be a healthy sign, but only when it is accompanied by responsibility and not by division. PDSH needs to preserve its opposition identity, strengthen ties with the strata that support it, and clarify its relations with possible allies. Only in this way will the election campaign not remain a formality, but will turn into a serious test for its political future.

Democracy is ostracized, conservatives no longer criminals

(Headline on page 6) In settling the country's relations with Europe, in the freedoms of the Lord and of the free market, the position of Albanian political forces is being defined in a new way. Conservatism and the right-wing tradition, once excluded from the ideological discourse, are now being viewed with a different outlook. Democracy cannot be built without a pluralism of thought and without respect for the historical contributions of each political side. This means that the old labels and political condemnations cannot remain the standard of public life. In this sense, reviving a reasonable debate about conservatives and their role in society is important for the country's future.
