ALBANIA - A PRIORITY OF AUSTRIAN FOREIGN POLICY

From the visit of the Albanian parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Selami to Austria It is learned from Vienna that the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Austrian People's Party, Mr. Andreas Kohl, accompanied by the Austrian ambassador to Albania, Dr. Johann Christoph t, received in the chambers of the Austrian Parliament the Albanian parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Ali Spahia. Later, the President of the Austrian Parliament, Heinz Fischer, and the Vice President, Dr. Alois Mock, received them in a cordial meeting. Highly valuing the results of the economic and democratic reforms in Albania, they assessed that our country should have priority in Austrian foreign policy. Austria's commitment to including Albania in the Pentagonale initiative and the CEI was discussed. The need to continue economic assistance for Albania was also discussed, as well as the possibilities of including our country in regional development projects. The meeting also addressed issues of parliamentary cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations. (continued on page 2)

- Tirana - Yesterday the government approved - It is clear that at this moment, the slanderers of the Socialist Party and the newspaper “Zëri i Popullit” have come out in defense of the former head of anti-trafficking operations, arrested for fraud. “RD” reports that the Ministry of the Interior and the law-enforcement bodies are striking at corruption and abuses, while the old propaganda tries to distort this fight.
