Shkodër has importance in the context of all Albania

- Meeting of H.E. Sali Berisha with intellectuals from Shkodër - From the speech of Mr. Eduard Selami Shkodër is the city of that intellectual community, part of the community which has inherited culture, spirit and an intellectual worldview. It is the only city where we are heirs to an intellectual elite which, whether for reasons of the old system or for reasons of continuity, has preserved an important weight in shaping public opinion. Shkodër has been an example of a city where determination and civic culture have been joined with a sense of national responsibility. We have always valued its role in democratic processes and in support of reforms. In this context, the meeting with the intellectuals of Shkodër was of particular importance in order to hear their opinions, criticisms and proposals. The discussion underlined that the transition requires greater responsibility, more political culture and stronger institutions. It was requested that Shkodër receive the attention it deserves in economic development, education, culture and infrastructure.
