YOUTH - THE HOPE OF THE FUTURE
-Mr. Tiran Shehu, Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Albania, also takes part
On Saturday morning, the hall of the House of Culture in Saranda was packed with students, young people from the city, teachers, intellectual workers and others, to take part in the meeting with activists of the Democratic Party, on the theme “Youth - The Hope of the Future”.
The main guest of the meeting, newly arrived from France, Professor Ahmet Kokalari, after a long and interesting presentation, showed that private enterprise is also producing satisfactory results and that employment must become a basic principle of every political and social forum. He also called on our emigrants in Greece and elsewhere to become pioneers of Albanian capital, to invest their savings in private business rather than keep them under the mattress or in foreign banks.
Then Mr. Tiran Shehu, Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Albania, gave an overview of the economic and social programs, stating that the Democratic Government already has firm milestones, valid for the next 20-30 years as well. He gave various examples of the clear changes that have taken place in the last two years, in order to view events realistically. As he said, employment is closely linked to private investment, the encouragement of business and the preservation of legality.
The participants in the meeting asked questions and offered various opinions on the role of youth in the new Albanian society, on education, culture and the country’s prospects.
In the end it was emphasized that only through work, knowledge and responsibility can the future of Albania be built.
PS AND PAD IN AN OPEN ALLIANCE, WITH A SINGLE PLATFORM
The opposition’s attitude in the face of progress, after a long time, continues to resemble an inherited resentment toward every success of the democratic forces. These days, in Tirana, frequent contacts have been observed between the leaders of PS and PAD, which is also reflected in their public statements.
According to various sources, a joint platform is being prepared, aiming to coordinate political actions. This platform seeks to exploit social discontent and the difficulties of the transition in order to create an opposition front.
Political analysts point out that such an approach is natural, since both of these forces have shown reservations toward reforms and privatization. However, it remains to be seen whether the electorate will support this kind of cooperation.
In democratic circles it is emphasized that the time of secret alliances is over and that citizens demand accountability and real alternatives.
DESPAIR AND RAGE
-Jamani back in Kosovo again-
Since his arrest and conviction, Jamani’s name has not disappeared from the news coming from Kosovo. Recently, he has been mentioned again in connection with the latest developments and the different positions of political circles.
Sources close to the family claim that his situation remains difficult, while public opinion is calling for greater transparency. His case is becoming a symbol of harsh political confrontation and the lack of fundamental rights.
Press commentaries emphasize that disappointment and anger have become part of everyday reality in Kosovo, where every event is seen in relation to the fate of people involved in persecution and court proceedings.
DON’T PLAY WITH THE ARMY, GENTLEMEN!
Reply
In the public debate on army reform, various theses have been put forward, some of which seem more like attempts at political gain than responsible analyses. The army cannot be treated as a propaganda tool.
The author emphasizes that modernizing the armed forces requires calm, professionalism and respect for the hierarchy. Any reckless word, according to him, damages troop morale and creates confusion in public opinion.
He criticizes approaches that encourage artificial tension and calls on all actors to show restraint. National security, the article says, must not become the object of party games.
In the end, institutional المسؤولs are asked to protect the dignity of the army and not to allow its use for political battles.
A REMINDER TO THE STATE CONTROL AND THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
-Is the social democrat “angel” Sabit Brokaj a sinner?-
On 20.8.1992, on the eve of new political and institutional developments in the country, a case came to light that shocked public opinion. It concerned administrative and financial actions that required verification by the competent bodies.
According to the published data, several decisions and procedures are linked to the name of Sabit Brokaj. The article raises the question of whether the State Control and the Prosecutor’s Office acted according to the same standard as in other cases.
The author raises the concern that some cases have been left in silence, while others have been treated with excessive zeal. This, in his view, damages public trust in the rule of law and equality before the law.
In conclusion, an impartial and transparent review of all the facts is requested, without being influenced by political affiliation.
