CELEBRATIONS HELD ON THE OCCASION OF THE 550TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ASSEMBLY OF LEZHA

The Assembly of Lezha, the initiator of national independence and of the modern Albanian state, strengthens the nation's tradition of unity in critical moments, such as the current period of the democratic development process in Albania. This was one of the conclusions of the scientific conference dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the Assembly of Lezha, which was held in [...] of the National Historical Museum. The chairman of the Democratic Party, Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha, in his greeting at this scientific conference, describing the efforts of Albanians through the centuries to preserve their nation, language, traditions, and culture, said that in the memory of the nation centuries later, as never before, alongside the outstanding heroism of the struggle of Albanians under Skanderbeg for freedom and independence, stands the Assembly of Lezha. According to him, this great historical event, which with the unification of the princes and all Albanians under Skanderbeg's flag, proclaimed before Europe, and also before other nations, the determination of the Albanians to stand firm against the Ottoman invasion. President Berisha described the Assembly of Lezha as a major event in the history of the Albanian people, an event that embodied the Albanians' efforts for freedom and independence, but also in its very organizational form as an expression of the deep European steadfastness of this people. He said that the Lezha congressmen founded the modern Albanian state in the sense of the political process, in the sense of defending national interests, and in the sense of administering a territory, by organizing a joint army in the most difficult circumstances of aggression. The Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Aleksandër Meksi, said that the celebration of the 550th anniversary of the Assembly of Lezha has extraordinary importance and, in today's conditions, for the reason that the work of our national hero should be a guide for generations. He added that the commemoration would serve as encouragement for [...] more studies on the figure of Skanderbeg and his work. The vice president of the Academy of Sciences, Prof. Kristo Frashëri, also spoke at the conference. (Continued on page three)

THE SOCIALISTS IN A "BATTLEFIELD" OVER THE CHAIRMAN'S LINE

The political bureau of the social democrats in the hall criticized the parliamentary compromise. [...?] To be "determined youth" prepared for a sad epilogue and a deposed outcast. To be in the largest opposition party in the country and in the deputy's chair, to have also held the post of general secretary of the party, to perhaps be among the people closest to its leader, and then suddenly fall from there in everyone's eyes and learn the reasons for this political catastrophe only through media reports. The Assembly of Lezha, the main ones, Azem Hajdari, Ylli Veizi, Azem Haxhia, Ylli Veizi [?], offered ps of the wonders together with [..] socialists and social democrats. (Continued on page three)

The "Skendo" case

Judges say: complete the investigations Marcel Shkondi, the first Albanian "simoni", a declared pederast and a shameless transvestite of Mbrostilli and Kurdarini of Lushnja. Yesterday, after appearing before the military penal court in the process called "Skendo", he stated that in our country social democrats and socialists go wild like the devil. The military court's decision to complete the investigations came because the court was handed new evidence to confirm the murder and homosexual rape, as well as links to prostitution and drugs. A special police group, arrived from Tirana, made it possible to identify and arrest the killer of Commissioner Nuri Nuhiu. The author of this murder is considered to be the young man from the village of Troshan in the Lezha district, Astrit Hila, born in 1991, currently residing in the city of Lezha. Meanwhile, in Tirana, at the District Court, at 1:00 p.m. yesterday a court session was held regarding the Prosecutor's request for the imposition of a detention measure on Astrit Hila. "IT CLAIMS TO TAKE THE POST"

As soon as the socialists' agreement was concluded and he was declared chairman, Namik Dokle considered his party to be composed into "PDS". After that, and however optimistic they may be in the social democrats, Ahmeti (?) and Vangjushi will have consequences. In one respect, the socialists and social democrats, one coming out of the "specter" of intoxication with the name of "PD" in administration, because PS had just been voted and was waiting with eyes open.
