In answering the prosecutor’s questions, Hoxha spoke about the period when Fatos Nano served as prime minister and about his activity in relation to the bank and financial matters. The hearing dealt with documents and procedures related to loans, guarantees, and government decisions. When asked about the way the matters had been administered, the witness referred to several actions taken at the time. He mentioned discussions in the Supervisory Board, relations with the government and the banks, as well as the way requests for financing had been submitted. In the courtroom, parts of letters were read aloud and clarifications were requested regarding signatures, responsibilities, and the implementation of decisions. According to the testimony, some actions had been carried out without following the usual banking practices, while in some cases there had been pressure to speed up the procedures. A considerable sum of money was also discussed, along with the way its use had been justified. Later, the prosecutor and the defense asked the witness further questions, seeking clarification about the roles of the people involved and the relevant documents.
