By bringing about the swift completion of reforms and orienting the country toward changes in state structures and the creation of a civil state, the Albanians of Albania will also help the other Albanians.” In the interview given to the radio “Pordregj[?]es[?]” why did Mr. Kiro Gligorov, instead of mentioning the period of Enver Hoxha’s rule and Albania’s stagnation, say nothing about the fact that the turn in the governance of our country made it possible for the Kosovo Albanians to be helped by Albania at the most dramatic time for them. He has forgotten that the refugee crisis in Macedonia and Albania is not the product of the Albanian government. The responsibility belongs to those who caused it, and the Albanian and Macedonian economies are being made to suffer difficulties because of the consequences of this imposed exodus. Perhaps Mr. Kiro Gligorov judges Albania this way because, not knowing and not even imagining what the name of Sali Berisha represents and means in Kosovo and in other ethnic areas, he forgets that the current president of Albania is the only leader in the region who has made an official visit to a former communist state, such as Russia, where the Kosovo issue was also at the center of the talks, where support was won for the protection of the rights of Albanians in Kosovo and in all their ethnic territories. Today’s Tirana and Athens must overcome as quickly and peacefully as possible the disagreements that exist between them, creating a model of cooperation that will also serve the other countries of the region.
