hunted: “The judges’ court is unlawful”
The trial against Fatos Nano is taking on the appearance of a decades-old case, but the weapon used is an undisputed invented “death”. Alta, Jasuo, and the secretaries of the collective enterprises, P.P. Nano, Luan Çuni and others, have presented important testimony before the court. Among the testimony submitted and the questions requested by the defense lawyer for the defendant, new arguments have also been added for establishing the truth. In fact, yesterday from 10 o’clock it was not documented before the court that there was an important file near the experts, according to which the issue of the use of Italian aid for the activities of the PPSH committee had been treated in a completely different way from Nano’s claims. In this file, which was presented in the courtroom by the prosecutor, it is said that “7P” recorded the movement of funds in such a way as to create the impression that they had been used for other objectives. And if the truth had not fully come out before, now this happens thanks to the declarations of witnesses and documents.
The first to testify yesterday was Shpresa Bregasi. “I received this file in accordance with the Council of Ministers’ orders for the administration of aid. In that file there are recorded expenses that were not defined in the project.” She said that part of the funds had been transferred for other expenses that were not directly related to the intended aid. “Then this file disappeared from the computer,” the witness said.
Kudret Çela was also questioned at the hearing. “No such material could be removed from the register without the signature of the responsible person. If this was done, then we are dealing with a violation.” While the defense lawyer asked about the regularity of the procedure, the prosecutor objected, arguing that the link between the documents and the case on trial was clear.
Another witness, Luan Çuni, said that “I did not have full knowledge of the destination of every fund, but I knew that the funds for entertainment activities were not foreseen as a priority”.
During the hearing, Fatos Nano objected to some of the statements and said that “a political atmosphere has been created against me” as well as “the court is unlawful”.
At the end of the hearing, the prosecution requested that the submitted documents be admitted as evidence. The hearing was postponed until next Friday.
