Defense of Plaka, Gjini and Hallka ... accusations against former Prime Minister Nano
DEFENSE OF PLAKA, GJINI AND
HALLKA ...
ACCUSATIONS AGAINST FORMER PRIME MINISTER NANO
The harsh struggle among the protagonists of the left is reshaping the political scene in Albania.
Despite the hushed voice of Mr. Azem Hajdari and the battered image of the member of the Central Committee of the PPSH, Mr. Arben Imami, the irreconcilable struggle in the left camp continues. These old and new protagonists of the Albanian left seem to be finding themselves in a new arena, where the weapons are accusations, slander and denunciations.
In such a climate, harsh words and mutual denunciations accompany almost every public appearance. At the center of the attacks is former Prime Minister Nano, against whom accusations of political and moral responsibility are being revived. Names such as Plaka, Gjini and Hallka are mentioned in this context as part of a clash that aims not only to denigrate the opponent, but also to reposition the left-wing forces after political defeats.
The article continues with descriptions of the clashes, in a polemical tone and with mutual accusations, presenting the development as part of an internal crisis of the Albanian left in transition.[?]
President Berisha greets Berlusconi’s victory in Italy
PRESIDENT BERISHA GREETS
BERLUSCONI’S VICTORY IN ITALY
London: President Berisha greeted the victory of the center-right, Silvio Berlusconi, in Sunday’s elections in Italy, describing it as a triumph for the right across Europe.
“All of Europe wants change. The victory of Mr. Berlusconi and his coalition proved that this is being expressed at the same time in Italy and in Albania regarding executive power, as well as in Bulgaria, Belarus, Romania, Poland and the Baltic States,” Berisha told journalists during an official visit to Britain.
Berisha, who is on an official visit to Britain, said this.
We rose after the overthrow of the totalitarian regime, we triumphed in the first pluralist elections, and the center-right government in Albania is one of the clearest examples of such a triumph,” he said.

Veterans demand the condemnation of E. Hoxha and his
collaborators
We declare that the organization of the Party of the National Liberation War and the invalids of the Albanian National Liberation War throughout Albanian territory will not accept any underestimation of historical truth or any legal violation, regardless of the massive and political nature of the crimes. In this framework, we are calling on the People’s Assembly of Albania, the Council of Ministers and the President of the Republic to carry out the legal and moral condemnation of Enver Hoxha and his main collaborators, as organizers and executors of communist terror.
In a public statement, veterans and former participants in the war say that silence in the face of crimes, internments, executions and political persecution cannot be accepted. They stress that the condemnation must be not vindictive, but legal and moral, as a need for national reconciliation and for the establishment of historical truth.
The text also mentions arguments about individual and state responsibility, as well as the need to distinguish the antifascist struggle from the communist regime that followed. The article continues on page 4.[?]

And Nano should not “argue”
with me about his thefts
A polemical text about Nano’s statements. The article appears to deal with objections to the way he defends himself publicly, bringing up claims of inconsistencies, evasion of responsibility and the use of weak arguments in his own defense. The text is partly illegible in the image.[?]
