MEETING OF Mr. Selami WITH Mr. Edwin John Feulner
Today Mr. Selami, chairman of the Democratic Group in parliament, was received at the Federal Department on a visit to the headquarters of the Heritage Foundation. Mr. Selami was received by the president of this institution, Mr. Edwin J. Feulner, and by the director of activities, Mr. Michael O. Easton. The discussion covered a number of issues concerning economic reform and political developments in Albania.
Mr. Selami gave a brief presentation on the programs of the Albanian government, as well as the progress of democratic reforms in Albania.
The Heritage Foundation, in close cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, is carrying out extensive activity to bring American and European specialists into contact with their Albanian counterparts.
Mr. Ryder Vroul attended the meeting.
Broad coverage in the world press on President Berisha’s visit to Great Britain
After speaking about the signing of the agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and the promotion of mutual investment protection between Albania and the United Kingdom, as well as the establishment of a joint economic commission, the British and international press gave special attention to President Berisha’s visit.
A BBC commentary, as reported by the Albanian service of this radio station, described the visit as very successful and noted that it was the first time an Albanian head of state had visited Great Britain.
Particular emphasis was also placed on Mr. Major’s statement that he supports Albania’s efforts on the path of democratic and economic reforms.
The British and international press also underlined the importance of the assistance given to Albania by countries and international institutions.
The European support for PSSH is “reduced” to a minimum
Strange assessments exist regarding the relations between PSSH and PESI. According to the latest statements by the leader of the Albanian socialists, the support of the European Left Center for PSSH has supposedly been significantly reduced. At least this is what was declared after the Brussels meeting.
But does this match the previous assessments? Press comments have underlined that PSSH remains far from the standards of Western socialist parties and that the problems with the communist past have not been overcome.
Within this framework, its rapprochement with European structures is still viewed with reservations.

APRIL 1 - THE DAY OF "ZP"
As it seems, today has not awakened from the headlines, and “Zëri i Popullit”, the newspaper of the Socialist Party, has had as its mission to deceive ordinary people. Since it began and up to today, “ZP” has had the mission to lie, in every case and at every time.
Recently this newspaper seems to have become entangled with PPD and the communists. Wherever the mischief of “ZP” is caught, it continues to spread slander against people and institutions.
In such cases, “ZP” tries to belittle and deny the achievements of the new democratic Albania.
It has never learned to tell the truth.
