Yesterday members of the PDPSH cabinet Zef Mazi, Minister of Agriculture, Genc Pollo, Minister of Education, Eduard Selami, Secretary General, Arben Imami, deputy of this area, as well as accompanied by the Minister of Health, Tritan Shehu, were in the first meeting with the residents of the Shezë commune.
At the center of this meeting were the problems related to the water supply of the villages of this commune. The chairman of the Shezë commune said that the main problem of this commune remains the supply of drinking water. According to him, in the summer season the problem becomes quite worrying. The village of Pajovë used to have water for 7-8 hours, during which the actions carried out so far have improved the situation, but there were also remarks about the long delay in completing the village’s water supply.
The Minister of Health, Tritan Shehu, said that the government is seriously committed to solving the problem of drinking-water supply. He assured those present that it is planned for significant funds to be allocated for this purpose in the state budget for 1994.
Continuing the meeting, Minister Zef Mazi spoke about the agricultural problems in the area, the need to increase production and the support the government will give to farmers.
Genc Pollo dwelled on the problems of education and the need for a more normal functioning of the school and educational institutions. Eduard Selami emphasized the importance of broader decentralization and strengthening local government.
