Will Ramiz Alia pound his chest again?!
From the foreign press, since his mouth can barely stay closed! “What happened, Mr. Alia and Co. Meanwhile, for the people, in the right way,” asked “Le Soir” of the accused person, as he did at Nano’s trial, when he declared that he felt “pride for what he had done for this people?!”
Not only in the newly formed industrial cabinet will he be proposed as the author of a national current in the country, but when did he ever intend such a mistake? “Open the files, shed light,” he was the first to say this publicly. “It doesn’t matter what will happen to me, but the return of democracy must come as quickly as possible,” he said some time ago. This long article, with ironic and political tones, refers to the trial of Ramiz Alia and the reactions of the Western press.
“Le Soir” also enters the picture here (a day before the opening of the trial) and asks: “Will the accused person be completely calm and cool? Will he still boast about his deeds?” According to the article, Alia has not only shown no remorse, but has also spoken in a language that often sounds like a challenge to the victims of the system.
In another part of the piece it is mentioned that during the proceedings he spared neither self-defensive tones nor claims about his role during the dictatorship. The comparisons with the trial of Fatos Nano serve to underline the way some politicians use the courtroom as a stage for political statements.
The article also speaks of public expectations and the need for justice not to turn into a rhetorical stage. The text suggests that the fundamental question remains: will there be remorse and responsibility, or just another performance before the public?

STATEMENT OF THE ALBANIAN DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Faced with the ongoing unmasking of the anti-national actions of today’s chauvinist Serbian clique and its collaborators on the international stage, in order to implement its well-known platform of “ethnic cleansing,” and in support of the previous statements of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, we declare:
The recent writings of the Serbian and Greek press, as well as the official Serbian political statements that seek to make the project of separating Kosovo from the Albanian body seem as “acceptable” as possible, are part of the same strategy.
At every cost and by every means, this policy seeks to bring about the disintegration of ethnic Albania and to impose unjust solutions on Albanians. This runs counter to international law and to the will of the Albanian people.
The Albanian Democratic Party calls on international institutions, public opinion, and Albanian political forces to react firmly to these dangers.
