We will all be happy together in the end
The Council of Europe delegation, which has come to Albania to observe the Referendum on the Draft Constitution and to prepare the final report on its admission to the Council of Europe, was received yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation includes Kelchermans, rapporteur of the Committee on Political Affairs; Columberg, rapporteur of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights; and Hartland, secretary of the Committee on Political Affairs and adviser in the office of Clark, Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Official sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the above-mentioned gentlemen stated:
Columberg: “We are pleased to note that Albania has made great progress in the field of democratic processes, the rule of law and the economy. We have always wished for you to have a constitution, and now we believe this will become a reality. The decision to hold the Referendum has positively changed the situation regarding Albania’s membership in the Council of Europe.”
Kelchermans: “The Constitution is extremely important for Albania’s accession to the Council of Europe. We have come to see the results of the Referendum, and we hope that in the end we will all be happy together about its success.”
