Taking into account the serious economic situation of the country created over the last months and the further worsening of the situation because of the lack of security for the food supply, the nation and the family of all people in the republic; the same and the general situation of this conflict, through the development of this policy and its course in stabilizing the state while calculating it in a language completely contrary to the interests of the people and plunging the country into a new civil war; they ask the People’s Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Albania to strengthen all its activity as the highest organ of state power. Meksi - Aran meeting
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Alfred Serreqi met yesterday with Switzerland’s Foreign Minister, Flavio Cotti. During the meeting, the parties focused on relations between the two countries and the possibilities for intensifying them in various fields. Mr. Serreqi gave an overview of the political and economic developments in the country, the democratic reforms and Albania’s European integration process. Berisha: “Elbasan Normal School set out for the University, and we will turn it into a university”
President Sali Berisha took part in the anniversary of Elbasan Normal School
Yesterday was the anniversary of the founding of the Normal School, the country’s first teacher-training school, which was commemorated in a festive atmosphere in Elbasan. President Sali Berisha, who took part in this event, praised the historic role of this school in shaping national education and in preparing generations of Albanian teachers. He stressed that the tradition of the Normal School and the intellectual potential of Elbasan make the establishment of a university in this city a natural step. “Elbasan Normal School set out for the University, and we will turn it into a university,” the President said, underlining the institutional commitment in this direction. Representatives of the structures of the Democratic Party gathered in an extraordinary assembly, where deputy chairman Arben Imami stated that the issue of the Constitution has been and remains at the center of their political commitment. “We have had the initiative for the Constitution, we have it and we will keep it,” he declared, stressing that constitutional reform is essential for the consolidation of the rule of law and democratic institutions. Albania - Pakistan: Meeting of the defense ministers
The Albanian Minister of Defence held a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, where cooperation in the military field and the exchange of experience in defense were discussed. The interlocutors valued the friendly relations between the two countries and expressed their readiness to expand institutional contacts. The right-wing forces lost the elections in Estonia!
Sunday’s parliamentary elections confirmed the success of left-wing and centrist coalitions in Estonia. The Coalition and Peasants Party, led by Tiit Vahi, and the Centre Party led by Edgar Savisaar achieved the best results, leaving the right-wing forces behind.
