The leaders of the PS must choose: Thieves or drug users
In response to three scandal explosions
this is what happens, they continue to deceive public opinion with shameless lies. This is the way to hide behind responsibility. According to him, the “office” set up by the members of the Socialist parliamentary group, spoken of as a “special office”, continues to collect and distribute “secret” materials, of course, for political interests. Now they are trying in vain to give this office different names. The “Project Design Center” for the Socialist Party, which they are trying to “whitewash” by giving it the name in official documents of the “organizing group” of the activity of the PSSh in the Tirana district, cannot hide its true nature. “According to President Berisha, the denial of the PS and of the 12” thus “special” with the offices where its staff have been housed, “special” in this sense the three offices of the communist nomenklatura. “special” because the entire work of the secret police of the communist regime is included in its activity and “special” because it plays the role of a secret nursery, with which it aims to continue anti-state activity. From all these indications we reach the conclusion that the real reason for the PSSh “special” office’s tendency to evade the law is the aim of hiding the anti-national activity of its chairman. It cannot be considered a coincidence either that this coincides in time with the dismissal of the Tirana secret police chief, Colonel K. P., from the “ZP”, as well as the setting up of the “special office” by the PS a few days later. Perhaps in order to continue unlawfully that activity which was being threatened by the breakdown of some secret alliances. Perhaps. These and other things must be clarified to the end. Dear readers These lines originate from Mr. Bashkim Fino’s interview, chairman of the Socialist parliamentary group, for the newspaper “Rilindja Demokratike” on 27 May 1995. In that interview, in a language that shows disregard for the seriousness of the issue, Mr. Fino tried to counter our article of 26 May dealing with the activity of the PSSh’s “special” office. To do this he set in motion a mixture of known facts with untrue facts, guesses, deliberate concealment and presentation of things taken out of context. He denied the existence of the “special office” even after this office had been published in the newspaper “Koha Jonë” and after the American chargé d’affaires in Albania, Mr. Rajerson, had described the “special office” as a “special office”. Naturally not in the well-known sense of the famous joke he made in 1992 to the leaders of the former opposition. For a large number of facts, he claimed they lacked accuracy, especially as regards the leading role of the PS chairman, Mr. Nano, in this office. However, we have no reason whatsoever to doubt the accuracy of the statement made by the former chief of Tirana’s secret police, K. P., on 16 May 1995, that “there Mr. Nano himself took part in talks and cooperation”. Dear readers Through this statement the chief of the secret police removes any doubt about Mr. Nano’s active involvement in the activity of the PSSh “special office”. For his part, Mr. Fino admitted this involvement, but decided to present it as a “routine” visit by Mr. Nano to the “organizing group” (sic!) in Tirana. That, at the very least, is ridiculous. The group in question was neither elected nor appointed by the party structures, but by a daily visitor whom the PSSh statute does not recognize. Therefore the statement that the “office” of the “Project Design Center” deals with political organization, like the other PSSh offices, is a banal and contradictory justification, because in every party activity there are functional, organizational and ideological structures, but not “special offices”, especially in the capital with “... dealings and exchanges with different people...” Doko and he would say to him “Well, it’s the same wheat-and-flour sack” for “Sharron”, “Dallka” and “ZP”, and the television debate where first and foremost de jure and de facto must be “the other side”, the PS, but with a “special office” at the head. EPI
In the continuation of the lies Dole changes his tune again
In his replies Dole in a broad way describes as distortions of Albania, but he “forgets” the statement of the “ZP” and the TV debate where first of all, de jure and de facto, the “other side” should be
“The synopsis of...” PS the declaration of its official spokesman (“ZP”) on 27 May 1995 against “RD” was made as part of a one hundred percent deceptive and insulting maneuver toward public opinion. They try to present the “special office” as a regular organizational structure of the PS. In fact, according to the official documents of the PS and the statements of its main figures, it becomes clear that the “organizing group” of Tirana does not exist as a functional structure in the PS. To defend this illegal and highly suspicious office in its activity, Mr. Dole, in his reply to “RD”, once again abandons the earlier version presented by the PS and invents a completely false second version. Now he says that the “office” called “special” is unjustly an office of the “Project Design Center”. This is another attempt to avoid the main question: Why is the common denominator of the people working there their link to the former communist secret service? Why have former employees of the secret police of the communist regime been gathered there? Isn’t this an indication of the nature of the office? Continuing with the lies, Mr. Dole says nothing about the statement made by the former chief of Tirana’s secret police, according to which “there Mr. Nano himself took part in talks and cooperation”. Likewise he completely avoids commenting on the television interview in which Fatos Nano, when asked about the existence of the “special office”, gave an answer that indirectly confirmed it. So, instead of clarification, we are dealing with a series of evasions and worthless denials. If this office is supposedly normal, why does the PS not openly declare its composition, function and subordination? That question remains unanswered. E.P.
President Berisha received Ambassador Ahrens
Dr. Peter Ahrens, residential counsellor of the Embassy of Great Britain in Tirana, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Sali Berisha, and was received by him in a cordial meeting. President Berisha attached particular importance to the traditional relations between Albania and Great Britain, stressing the excellent level of these relations. The two countries share a common approach to many problems in the region. President Berisha informed him about the progress of deep democratic reforms, the consolidation of the institutions of the rule of law, and Albania’s economic development prospects. He appreciated the great assistance that Great Britain and the countries of the European Union have given Albania. President Berisha also gave a brief overview of the situation in Kosovo and in the region. Assessing the situation in Kosovo, President Berisha made a clear presentation of Albania’s position in favor of a peaceful and political solution to the Albanian question there. In the end President Berisha stated that Albanians in Kosovo and the Albanian factor in the former Yugoslavia are a factor of peace and stability in the Balkans. E. P.
The end of a political careerist
With an honorable end rather than a man without an end
“Dr. Fino u [?!]”?? The newspaper “Zëri i Popullit” responded yesterday with a lengthy piece against our article “The scandal of the socialist director of the “ZP” printing house” dated 28 May. Instead of saying something about the facts of using the post of director for illegal political organizing in the printing house, it chose the path of insults and distortion. The attack by “ZP” was nothing more than another attempt to cover up responsibilities. A large number of insults and slanders that fill its article add no argumentative value. On the contrary, they show a serious moral and political deterioration. In the article, the way the director in question is being defended stands out in particular, by being presented as a “specialist”, while the issue has nothing to do with professional ability, but with abuse of office. This is a typical way of evading the substance. The article in “ZP” even uses a language that seeks to justify the involvement of the printing house in one-sided party activities, something entirely unacceptable. If Mr. Fino thinks that with loud tones and personal attacks he can change the facts, he is mistaken. The fact remains that the printing house must not serve as a base for illegal political activities. The Ministry of Order, the justice system and state structures must investigate this matter to the end. E.P.
