Nihilism - the electoral platform of PS
Nihilism -
the electoral platform
of PS
The socialists have shaped their electoral campaign around three fundamental pillars. These are the denigration of everything achieved during the rule of the Democratic Party, the instrumentalization of every incident and every misfortune, and the rehabilitation of the communist dictatorship period. Thus, their leader, Fatos Nano, even yesterday, without breaking with fascist politics, repeated that Albania is the poorest country in the world and that its citizens are dying of hunger. Even the most uninformed person understands that this is a shameless slander for which he should be ashamed.
The truth is quite different. First, Albania is not the poorest country in the world. Per capita income has increased. Production has grown, especially agricultural production, cultivated areas have expanded, and the appearance of the town and countryside is changing. There is a major demographic movement with social consequences, but one that shows the freedom of the individual to choose his or her own life. The economy is moving at a progressive pace and is improving every day. However, these are not the only reasons the socialists have lost their calm and launched a fierce campaign against the government and the administration. There are other motives pushing them down this path.
First, the socialists still feel nostalgia for the totalitarian past. They have not truly broken away from the mindset of denying the opponent and of class hatred. Therefore, every success of this government is unbearable to them. They cannot accept pluralism as a value and individual freedom as the foundation of a democratic society. On the contrary, they try to present every problem as a national catastrophe and every difficulty as proof of the failure of democracy.
Second, their goal is to stir up insecurity and mistrust among citizens. By incessantly repeating that the country is on the brink of collapse, they aim to create a climate of panic that could turn into an electoral gain. Yet Albanian citizens have shown maturity and know how to distinguish propaganda from reality. They see that the path of reforms is difficult but necessary, and that going backward would be a real catastrophe.
Third, the socialists seek to manipulate international opinion with sensational statements and with a self-deprecating language about the country. It is a shame for an Albanian political force to go around the world blackening the country’s image solely in order to attack its opponent. This is not democratic opposition, but anti-national behavior.
Citizens will judge. They will compare not words, but deeds; not endless complaints, but the real changes that have taken place. And in this comparison, the socialists’ nihilism cannot become a governing alternative.

The first results of the Eurobarometer
Brussels
confirms
the PD victory
For the Albanian right, 58% of the points
All the left together only 29%
The Albanian right has had among the most encouraging results in the latest survey conducted by the “Eurobarometer”, compared with 18 developed countries of the continent.
In this survey, which aimed to come as close as possible to predicting the result of the upcoming parliamentary elections, the Albanian right emerged as the winner. According to the official “Eurobarometer” source, for Albania the survey found that the center-right parties, led by the Democratic Party of Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi, are in third place after Spain and Greece. This shows not only the very high support enjoyed by the right among the Albanian electorate, but above all the secure prospect of its victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Compared with the 29 percent that this survey yielded for all the left together, the right secured 58 percent of the points in Albania. This high result is also a clear sign of the level of support that the Albanian people are giving to the democratic coalition government. In the comment on Albania, the “Eurobarometer” notes that the high pace of economic and social progress in recent years has directly influenced this optimistic climate.
It is enough to compare Albania from a few years ago with today’s Albania to understand that many of the left’s accusations do not hold up. At a time when the country is moving firmly toward a market economy, integration into Europe, and institutional consolidation, nihilist propaganda is not finding the resonance the opposition hopes for.

PS announces the guarantees of certain defeat
PS announces
the guarantees of
certain defeat
The anti-individual government is not politics of defeat? On Monday, PS openly declared its political position, with which it seeks to present itself to the electorate as the future force leading the country. The document of Fatos Nano’s party bears the title: “On strengthening the role of parliament,” and according to the commentary made on it by the pro-opposition daily press, it is the socialists’ pre-electoral platform. Right from these lines of the document it is clearly underlined that for the socialists political reform has to do with dividing posts and not with the freedoms and rights of citizens.
Instead of speaking about the individual, private initiative, property protection, market development, competition and the limitation of the state, the document returns to the old party-state scheme. It sees parliament not as an institution of control and representation, but as a tool to concentrate power in the hands of the left. That is why its text does not inspire trust, but fear.
If this is their alternative, then their defeat is certain. For the Albanian citizen already knows from experience what the politics of centralization and paternalism mean. He knows that freedom is not replaced by slogans and that democracy is not strengthened by weakening institutional balances.
The whole rhetoric of PS about parliament is in fact a cover for turning back. And this turning back has no support in a society that has chosen pluralism and the market economy.
Kavaja is laughing at Kukulla I. Mela
Kavaja is laughing at
Kukulla I. Mela
Of the seven prefecture regions reflected in the poem “Lule, lulëzo Shqipëri” by composer Josif Minga, Kavaja is the only one not mentioned. Mesha told journalists the opposite with irony, saying that apparently this “forgetfulness” is being “repaired” with a special management of local government.
The inconsistencies and scandals of the mayor of Kavaja, Kukulla I. Mela, with the law and with the normal administration of the city have already become known to public opinion. According to numerous complaints, he has committed violations in the fields of urban planning, property and local finances.
In the vacation areas and in public assets, questionable actions have been carried out, while many citizens complain about favoritism and clientelism. Likewise, it is said that decisions of the municipal council have been bypassed and that the administration has been used for narrow political interests.
The citizens of Kavaja demand transparency and enforcement of the law. They expect the relevant institutions to clarify these issues and to assign responsibility where it exists.
