Alliance of nostalgics We asked for a little clarification regarding the statement that we would place Albania on the right side of Europe, since the possibilities of taking this side of the cabinet in our country are specifically very limited. He said that this was about integrating the country into the complex of Europe’s right-wing and conservative institutions. In response to the question, on the other hand, of what he understands by the concept of the “right wing” in Albania, President Berisha said that it was a political and economic orientation that defends free initiative, private property, fair competition, the rule of law, and the traditional values of the family. According to him, right-wing governance in Albania has been decisive in breaking with the communist past and in building a market economy. He emphasized that the reforms have brought visible results in economic stabilization, growth in production, and the expansion of the private sector. The President added that the elections will be free, fair, and transparent, and that Albanian citizens will decide their own future. He underlined that Albania belongs to the western part of Europe not only geographically, but also in terms of its values, history, and aspirations. After his speech, in the continuation of the political debates of the campaign, mutual accusations were raised about a return to the past and a lack of vision for the future.
