A good governing situation Good governing situation Yesterday, with the greetings of the new Albanian government delivered, the governing process has now been completed. The new Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tritan Shehu took the oath yesterday morning before the President of the Republic, Sali Berisha. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Palace of Brigades at 11:00 in the presence of the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Pjetër Arbnori, members of the government, members of parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps, etc. In his speech, President Berisha stressed that the new government will face deep reforms and will have as its main objective the strengthening of the rule of law, the market economy, and European integration. At yesterday’s ceremony, Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi presented the composition of the new government cabinet. One of the main tasks of the new government will be strengthening the market economy, supporting investment, fighting corruption, and improving citizens’ well-being. In addition, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government will work closely with the country’s institutions, with the public administration, and with international partners. At the ceremony held yesterday, after the oath, the members of the new cabinet were also introduced.
