The new government was sworn in before the President of the Republic

A good governing situation Good governing situation Yesterday, with the greetings of the new Albanian government delivered, the governing process has now been completed. The new Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tritan Shehu took the oath yesterday morning before the President of the Republic, Sali Berisha. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Palace of Brigades at 11:00 in the presence of the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Pjetër Arbnori, members of the government, members of parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps, etc. In his speech, President Berisha stressed that the new government will face deep reforms and will have as its main objective the strengthening of the rule of law, the market economy, and European integration. At yesterday’s ceremony, Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi presented the composition of the new government cabinet. According to the announcement, the new government consists of the following members: Tritan Shehu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Bashkim Kopliku, Deputy Prime Minister; Alfred Serreqi, Minister of Justice; Ylli Vejsiu, Minister of Finance; Kastriot Islami[?], Minister of Education[?]; Luan Hajdaraga, Minister of Public Order[?]; Albert Brojka[?], Minister of Local Government[?]; etc.[?] Since yesterday, in the premises of the Council of Ministers, the ceremony of handing over duties to the new cabinet took place. From the President’s side and from representatives of the parliamentary majority, it was stressed that this government will be tasked with implementing the program presented to the electorate and accelerating reforms. This is an important moment for our country. One of the main tasks of the new government will be strengthening the market economy, supporting investment, fighting corruption, and improving citizens’ well-being. In addition, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government will work closely with the country’s institutions, with the public administration, and with international partners. At the ceremony held yesterday, after the oath, the members of the new cabinet were also introduced. Evert congratulates the chairman of the PDSH for the post in the new government The chairman of the Christian Democrats, Prof. Finis Jungu, in a congratulatory letter addressed to the chairman of the PDSH, Dr. Tritan Shehu, after expressing his heartfelt congratulations for the victory in the 26 May elections, wishes that the Christian Democratic and center-right forces continue their united action in the future so that Albania may keep accelerating its path toward Europe. President Berisha received the chairwoman of the Foreign Policy Commission in the new German Bundestag of the CDU, Dr. Kati Hentie Hornhus At the model, President Sali Berisha received the chairwoman of the Foreign Policy Commission in the German Bundestag of the CDU, Dr. Kati Hentie Hornhus. The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and the support Germany has given Albania during the transition period. President Berisha expressed deep gratitude for German assistance in the country’s economic, institutional, and democratic development. During the conversation it was emphasized that the reforms undertaken in Albania have brought visible results and that cooperation with Germany remains an important priority. Mrs. Hornhus praised the progress made and expressed readiness to further strengthen political and parliamentary ties.
