20 October — a test of loyalty to Western civilization
The President calls on thousands of residents of Kuçova, Berat, Ura Vajgurore and Lushnja
Those who, on the basis of a barbaric-oriental doctrine, have as their idea and goal the crushing of the opposition through a diversionary organization, physical elimination and genocide, are organized, but those who are above all dignified members and citizens of a civilized Albania with a Western orientation are also organized.
Let the vote of 20 October be a vote for democracy and stability, and the numerical and moral blocking of those who pose a danger to the values of freedom and the prosperity of Albania.
The people, with the leadership of the PDSH, have pursued and implemented, through the majority of those elected in Parliament, for more than the last 16 months, a sustainable and successful reform. On 20 October we will march in the same direction, as we did on 26 May. Citizens of every class and of all political beliefs, supporters of the market economy and private property, families, young people and students, intellectuals and workers, farmers and entrepreneurs, all have their place under the flags of the PD and the victory of 20 October. Those who seek to frighten and demoralize should be made to understand that the number of those who believe that the achievements of democracy so far are only the beginning of a greater life and freedom is large. It is time to count, clearly and without losing our composure, which political force the investments, pensions, jobs, schools, electricity and roads come from, and whether in the areas where pseudo-unions or other anti-religious [?] and anti-civic organizations manipulate there are more jobs or the closure and destruction of workplaces. If any force has the moral standing to ask once again for your support, it is the PD. 20 October is the day of its victory and of your greatest success.
It does not matter how many of them are named and how many unnamed there are among those who attack the citizen in order to impose a political opinion on him or to put memorized ideas into practice. What matters is that not everyone is free in thought and not everyone serves the free will of citizens. The extremist propaganda filled with pressure, slander and fabrications is clear proof that on 20 October thousands upon thousands of socialists can vote with dignity, because socialism has abandoned them and is using them as cannon fodder. The expression most fitting for opponents who practice violence, rallies with dajre and organized court proceedings is that “you don’t bargain with your father,” because they are the very ones who have vomited over the jackets of the beaten and hand-tied, who have cursed to the core and overturned the moral foundations of ordinary and conscientious people. On 20 October they want to be back at the head of the country and to put things to the test with fire and blood.
Pressure from above, preaching hatred, the language of conflict, individual and organized pressure, bringing a section of the administration and another section of the media into line, encouraging political and civil disobedience are manifestations that should not be taken lightly. Albania on 20 October is being put to the test. We must vote well, not for them. The future of Albanians who love their country and who want a European family cannot depend on ordinary intrigue-mongers who come before everyone with the same message: “With us you will never lose!”
The answer should be: “By what right do you threaten us with defeat?” That is the question every free citizen should ask on 20 October.
Berat: On 20 October prove that you will govern in your hometown
Berat is a place of tolerance and solidarity, with strong support throughout the population for the progress of reforms. On 20 October the inhabitants of the district of Berat and Skrapar will prove to their opponents that they belong to Western civilization and that they think and act as dignified Albanians and free people. The prefect of Berat, Mr. Milto Bardhi, stated that the citizens of Berat will give the deserved answer to the hysteria of the opponents, the drift toward meaningless protests, and the placing at the service of extremist circles and political unions. According to him, Berat is in full solidarity with those who believe that Western civilization is the only direction for Albania and that the place of anti-reform protesters is not Albania.
Berat has always voted for peace and not for violence, and has rejected adventurous politicians who want to elevate a political force by means of destabilization. The citizens of Berat told “RD” that they will give the deserved place to political propagandists who call the victory of Albanians on 26 May a day of mourning and the desecration of the national flag and the figure of Skanderbeg in the name of political adventure. Berat said “No” also to the insistence on the demand for a boycott and “no” also to the deputy who stated that 26 May was a “day of mourning.”
Kuçova: We have no more time to lose
Kuçova, a well-known industrial center of Albania, has firmly supported the government of stability and its fight against extremism. The vote of 20 October is important also for the citizens here and for all Albanians. The deputy prefect of Kuçova, Mr. Arian Dema, said that “on 20 October the people of Kuçova will be determined to support the normal democratic development and reforms in the country.” “The coalition government with a right-wing spirit has successfully led the democratic processes and the market economy. The vote of 20 October will serve to prove that Albania will integrate more quickly into Europe, blocking with votes and with moral strength the adventurers with destructive ideas,” said Mr. Dema. Meanwhile, the people of Kuçova declared to “RD” that the vote of 20 October for democracy is the only alternative toward the future and that the adventures shown by some forces are harmful to the whole country. According to them, the words of protesters who do not recognize the law and the will of the citizens have no place in an emancipated and developing society.
Lushnja: Destabilizing and denigrating movements are in the service of evil
Lushnja and the entire district are in unsparing solidarity with the progress of reform and the parliamentary majority. The deputy prefect of Lushnja, Mr. Mhill Shamata, said that “the voters of the district of Lushnja are determined to support with their vote the forces of the governing coalition and to prevent political adventurers from desecrating the civilized political climate with anti-democratic protests. On 20 October there will be a massive vote for stability and reform governance, since the citizens of Lushnja are determined to give the appropriate answer to the provocateurs.” “We have no time to lose with those who manipulate people’s souls and desecrate precious moral and national values. We rejected them on 26 May and we will reject them again,” the inhabitants of Lushnja told the envoys of “RD”.
