Christmas Day is celebrated joyfully

May peace and love reign among us SHKODËR: President Berisha greeted the Catholic faithful on the occasion of Christmas The Albanian Church, testimony to faith in God and nation President Berisha, during his visit to Shkodër, took part in the ceremonies held in the cathedral church on the occasion of Christmas. In his greeting he highlighted the importance of this holiday for Catholic believers and for all Albanian society, stressing that peace, love, and understanding must reign among people. In this context, the President congratulated the Catholic clergy and the faithful for their role in preserving moral and national values. During his stay in Shkodër, he also held meetings with personalities from the city and with many citizens who had come out to greet him. The festive ceremony was attended by local leaders, representatives of religious communities, and many believers. Extraordinary congress and change of leadership

The intentions of a group of leaders of the Socialist Party Draft decision 1. To begin the extraordinary congress of the PSSH immediately after the end of the PSSH summit on 7 April 1997. 2. To begin the November meeting with 10-15 speakers around the PSSH and in the people and democracy. 3. To dismiss the entire PSSH from these leaders: a. First vice-chairman D. Shehi b. Appointments should be made in the new organizations and the chairman's replacement should be found according to the statute. 7. The structure of the working groups with professionals and the political apparatus should also take part and no decision should be made without debate. 8. Discussions should be genuine, not imposed. 9. The decision and the reasons should be made public on television.

President Berisha forgave the financial obligations

To the small parties participating in the elections The President of the Republic, Sali Berisha, decreed yesterday the consensual law of the People's Assembly that extended the deadline for payment of the financial obligations of the political parties that took part in the elections of 26 May 1996. Under this law, with the postponement of payment until 1 June 1997, the work for these parties is significantly eased. Meanwhile, on the same day, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Dr. Sali Berisha, met with representatives of the political forces participating in the elections, stating that the solution to this issue was a necessary step to preserve the pluralist standards of political life in the country. According to the press notices, during the meeting they discussed the progress of political processes and the need to strengthen institutional dialogue.
