1996, a year of prosperity and the wisdom of Albanians

The national issue is an issue that belongs to all Albanians; political and government forces, individuals, citizens, and the clergy must be fully committed The red-elected seek the cover of a broken people; they want to deny all the honors and consequences of this vote 1996, a year of prosperity and wisdom of Albanians The national issue is an issue that belongs to all Albanians; political and government forces, individuals, citizens, and the clergy must be fully committed The red-elected seek the cover of a broken people, they want to deny all the honors and consequences of this vote Kosova deserves the parliament for which it voted. The institution of parliament is a civilizing obligation of parliamentary independence, unlike other institutions I am convinced that a democratic and sovereign Kosova will receive reasonable understanding, more than an occupied Kosova and a totalitarian Serbia President Alia has also highlighted particular positions. And that there is no reason for the right-wing forces, fanatical bloodthirsters, and gamblers to be included in order to take over themselves. I wish to inform you that the compensation coefficient in kind for urban pensioners and paid from the state budget is 28.4 percent. This year of Albania’s prosperity will end for urban pensioners with a compensation coefficient of not 27 percent, but 29.7 percent. The pensions of rural pensioners are 28.5 percent, but 28.7 percent. The Albanian parliamentarian, Mrs. Doris Pack, greeted this decision on behalf of the European People’s Group, considering it an important act. A special analysis of the broadcast from the very beginning on the Europe channel live has increased the interest in this activity of parliament and the deputies. Albania has recorded achievements in its fields, including qualitative ones. This growth and development have been made possible not by reform through price increases. These are achievements which, in the absence of certain reforms, have made it possible to cope with the crisis and difficulties in towns and villages. Rapid economic growth If the economy, in 1996, aims to double production compared with 1992, it can now be said with full confidence that the country has entered the spiral of strong economic growth. A considerable part of industrial production reached 65 percent. Budget revenues increased by 18 billion lek, while foreign exchange reserves reached 275 million dollars. The private sector is increasingly meeting the country’s needs. Economic growth is being accompanied by an increase in consumption and by improvements in living standards. These indicators are linked to the fight against inflation, the consolidation of the national currency, and greater confidence in the reforms. Good relations with neighbors Regarding Kosova, I have emphasized that its issue is one of security and peace in the region. It is a national issue, but also one that affects the stability of the entire Balkan space. Albania supports peaceful solutions and respect for the rights and the will of its citizens. At the end of this year, I wish to thank all Albanians for their patience, wisdom, and energy in building a democratic and free society.
