The government secures citizens’ money

All deposits in Albanian and domestic banks have been permanently frozen. The Council of Ministers decided to freeze all deposits of foundations and trading companies formed through financial activities carried out without a license, at the state bank and other financial entities. According to data from the Ministry of Finance, the accounts identified as secured by two financial funds are numerous, while everything will be determined in the state banks and the branches as soon as possible. According to the wording of the final decision, following the declaration of the financial condition of these funds and companies and the withdrawal from activities not based on the law, it has been requested that the acceptance of deposits be prohibited and measures be taken for their immediate return. For the other foundations, the Council of Ministers decided to freeze them and place them under temporary administration.
