Large rally of the Democratic Party in Tirana
20 February - the day of the collective memory of Albanians
Monsters to capitulate to the socialists
The monsters capitulate to the socialists
In a somewhat astonishing atmosphere at all points in the center and heart of the capital, hundreds of thousands of Democratic Party supporters had filled "Skënderbej" Square, "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, and the side streets of the capital to commemorate the toppling of dictator Hoxha's monument by students on 20 February 1991 and the victory of political pluralism brought about by the sacrifices and blood of the idealists of democracy in Albania.
It was natural that this date, so important for the Albanian nation, would not only be a magnificent manifestation and remind each of us how dear and costly the price of freedom was, but also a highly significant moment for the turbulent situation the country is going through. This was also the reason why at the festive rally organized in honor of this marked day, not only supporters and sympathizers of the Democratic Party came, but also non-party citizens who strongly protested against attempts to destabilize the country and against the red revolution being carried out by the social-communist opposition.
At the entrance to "Skënderbej" Square there were banners with the slogans "Long live democratic Albania", "Democratic Party, victory" and many others with clear messages against the left-wing neo-Bllokmen and their disciples. The central boulevard of the capital was also filled with red-and-black flags, Democratic Party flags and hundreds of banners bearing the name of President Berisha and the deputy speakers of Parliament, while the young people held candles in their hands as evidence of remembrance of this day and of the sacrifice of the students and the people.
The rally began with the national anthem and then the chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Tritan Shehu, invited the participants to honor the heroes of 20 February with a minute of silence. When asked by thousands upon thousands of voices whether democracy would win the battle against the red crime, the destabilizers, the coup plotters and the Albanian social-communists, the chairman of the PDSH, Mr. Shehu, said that all Albanians were standing firmly together to say yes to freedom and no to dictatorship. "The time has come to decide that all Albanians receive an answer as to who is the force of the right and who is the force of the state. We must no longer tolerate people who violate order and put democratic institutions at risk."

President Berisha's speech at yesterday's rally in Tirana
20 February is the great appeal to every Albanian to awaken to blindness and dependence, to aggression and obscurantism, to the neo-Bllokmen and their anti-European orientations, to asocio-folklorism and the dogmas that characterize the old regime. PD chairman: There is no[?] comment on the statements of some deputies
They acted not in conformity with the rules of the PD
In the press statement of the deputy chairman of the National Council of the Democratic Party regarding this statement, with the title “The game of the 6th communist ‘Revolution’ is over” published on the front page of “Koha Jonë”, it is stated: For a statement that may have been put into the press and of which the PDSH leadership has not been informed in any way, there is no official opinion. The official positions of the Democratic Party are presented only by its leadership. Any other interpretation is personal. There has been and there is freedom of thought and statements by deputies, but they are and remain personal opinions, regarding this official statement.

PDSH chairman Mr. Tritan Shehu
Shahu: “The Marxist experiment is linked to democracy”
Neither the right nor the left, but our past, should have been the message of yesterday's event in "Skënderbej" Square.
All Albanians invite us to remember the beauty of our freedom as well as the terror of the despots. Even if every free society is not perfect, no one can replace this freedom with old experiments. On 20 February 1991, the old regime fell. What was born was not Marxism, but the freedom of the European man. This is what we must defend today.

42 students from the University of Vlorë on hunger strike
University rector: Lenders, help the students end the strike
42 students from the University of Vlorë are on hunger strike
University rector: Lenders,
help the students end the strike
In just the last 24 hours, 96 lenders have submitted contract rescissions. More worrying is the fact that among them there are increasing numbers of those who want to withdraw 100 percent of the deposited amount, arguing that they do not understand why the government is not implementing the law issued by the President, and why it is not enforcing the decision it itself adopted for all lenders, without distinction, in relation to the borrowing companies. According to the rector of this university, the students should end the strike, because it irritates public opinion just as much as it discriminates against the government itself. A typical case of this is the solidarity shown by Berisha's government with the students and lecturers of Vlorë. One fact is enough to mention. During this time, our government has paid the university's back wages, as well as those of the high schools, eight-year schools, and even kindergartens and nurseries. This government has not only made investments to raise the educational level at the University of Vlorë, but has also financed 4 new dormitories with all the necessary equipment. Currently, including the 3.6 billion lek allocated by the government for students, it turns out that the Berisha government has done more for this university than all previous governments combined. Therefore, this extremism is incomprehensible. According to him, with the contract rescission filed with the court, lenders also have a better chance of getting back both the principal and the interest. In just a few days, the court in Vlorë has enforced hundreds of bank accounts and has seized several assets of "Gjallica". In addition, the government has also sent a team of Albanian and American experts to Vlorë to assist the Albanian judiciary so that it can speed up the enforcement of court decisions for lenders defrauded by the firms. Also, said the rector, the government is mobilizing all its law-enforcement structures to bring before criminal responsibility all those who attacked Vlorë and the country on 9 February, when public buildings were destroyed, state cars were burned, and there were also people killed. According to the rector, the University of Vlorë cannot be indifferent, nor can it be dependent on adventurous elements. Students must return to the lecture halls, and for their proper functioning we will do our duty.
