Turkey recognizes only Albania's constitutional and legitimate institutions

President Berisha received the Secretary-General of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Omur Orhon At the meeting with President of the Republic Mr. Sali Berisha, the Secretary-General of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Omur Orhon, who is in Tirana on a mission as special envoy of the Turkish government and President Demirel, said that his country considers the only legitimate government of Albania to be the one headed by Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi, and as the only constitutional authority the President of the Republic, Mr. Sali Berisha. Turkey has valued and highly values the stance of the government and of President Berisha in seeking to resolve this difficult situation calmly, without falling victim to provocations from the communist opposition and SHIK [?]. It was also said at this meeting that food and material aid will be sent immediately for the Albanian people and especially for children and the elderly. Regarding the meeting of the Council of Europe on Albania, the Secretary-General of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined that at the meeting to be held on Thursday he would seek to raise awareness and inform the European chanceries and the USA that the situation in Albania is extremely serious and requires a rapid and concrete intervention.

International attention and support for Albania

People have called it and embraced all this opposition stubbornness and capricious anti-democratic intransigence. And perhaps they are waiting for Scharping to ask the attention of Europe and the world what will happen with the consequences of the expected catastrophe that would be caused in our country by the revenge of the Stalinists and their clients on our own ground. The sooner Mr. V. N. sets off for the chancellery of this metropolis and rides the crest of diplomacy, the better. The sooner our political hawks understand that the bargaining in the European capital could be bought at the expense of four Albanians killed, the better the weight of the national fate would be appreciated. Despite the spirit of triumph expressed in a German newspaper in recent days, the leaders of the communist soldiery and of SHIK must know that Berlin is not the center of Belgrade. But it sees farther and understands the tragedies of the neighboring country more quickly. Perhaps if the Aksin of the opposition [?] were to use his mind, he would understand that playing the Kosovo card is as harmful as it is fatal for Albanian interests. It would have been better to reflect long ago on the cause of the tragedy of the journalist Shkëlzen Imeraj and the blackening of Albanians' image before the world. If the criteria of a nationalist state and of blind nationalism are overcome, opposition testimony would better suit democratic culture, which is now significantly shaken and which today was tested by the fire of the presses. In the end, nothing would be saved in this dead end for the Albanian opposition. Neither the pathetic cries organized against Democratic governance nor the boycott of the elections by the right. In this case, a fatal blindness would come into play, so that destabilization and inter-party accusations might provoke some national tragedy.

Political forces should not trigger a new crisis for the government

Press statement of PDSH The latest statement by the leadership of the PS before setting off to stage what it does to halt the Albanian parliament, Albanian parliamentarism, and Albanian pan-Americanism is all part of the same scheme to undermine Albania. In this regard, we believe that the country is in a very difficult situation because of social provocations. PDSH believes that political forces and organizations that will take part in RTV and democratic institutions should create governing forces as soon as possible and make way for real power. The key point is to open the way to solving the crisis and normalizing the situation of order and calm. A new form of governance must be encouraged, not speculative actions that lead to the denial of constitutional institutions. PDSH calls on the people and the parliamentary factor to keep calm and not fall prey to destabilization.
