He points out that the anti-government forces are made up of fairly heterogeneous groups, some of them former communists who want the old system back, another part former owners demanding their property, while another part are nationalists with prejudices against Greece and Turkey. According to him, all these groups are united only by hatred of Berisha. Abrahams thinks the majority of Albanians will not accept the return of communism or a nationalist adventure, and for this reason elections remain the only path. He calls on the opposition to give up boycotts and take part in the race. He also stresses that, to restore trust, the elections must be held under strong international supervision.
