Albanians abandon the runoff

Again serious violations and grave irregularities throughout the country The elections are boycotted, having been abused by PS gangs. Low turnout in the second round Last Saturday, without a real explanation, the world and the Albanians were waiting to see how that electoral farce, brutalized by the armed gangs of the Socialist Party, would be brought to an end. The final sincerity of the socialist commissioners in the polling stations, the ballot papers deliberately left uninked, and the explicit order by at least five candidates of that party not to take part in the runoff were the first signs of apathy and a sense of defeat in the camp of the self-proclaimed winners. Many analysts in the world press predicted that the approaching Sunday, 6 July, would take with it not only the electoral farce, but also the compromised 9 March cabinet. But, faced with events, the right wing continued to propagate the message of power that the blame for the failure of the second round lay with the nationwide boycott and the need for massive participation. In fact, thousands of people did not go to vote not only because of fear and skepticism, but also because in most of the country free voting did not exist. In the centers where the runoff was held, serious violations were denounced again, multiple voting, political pressure and a serious lack of legal standards. This situation pushed part of the electorate to refuse participation. The newspaper under strict OSCE observation Photo: A. Rusta The newspaper under strict OSCE observation Photo: A. Rusta

Shehu resigns as chairman of the PD

After the second round of the parliamentary elections ON PAGE 3 As chairman of a PD branch that does not have a single deputy and that has performed as poorly as possible in these elections, I cannot sit idly by. I have submitted my resignation to the branch. This was said in a press statement. Shehu made this statement at the party leadership meeting and requested the resignation of the branch leadership, thereby setting a rare political precedent. According to him, this electoral defeat must be analyzed responsibly and the cause of the defeat must be found. Shehu also links this to the general situation created in the country. Nano - Trino, over 1 million every night at Rogner

Lavish spending by Socialist leaders ON PAGE 3 Today and for hundreds of examples there around the elegant Rogner Hotel, the careers of the PS are whispering. Nano, with yesterday's attire in his everyday suit, has been waiting around. In the hall, by the stairs leading up, and in the vertically arranged club around[?] late. The amount that the PS itself has to pay comes close to 1 million per day. So far he has only left bills[?].

The monarchists' protests yesterday in the day of the gitshë[?]

Leka I: No one should dare to violate Albanian soil ON PAGE 3 Briefly and strikingly as a patriotic political fanaticism, he called for unity in action for the winter, as well as preparation for self-defense. He called on all Albanians in the country and around the world to act and protest against any violation of the national territory. The monarchists protested yesterday in Tirana and in other cities. Leka I appeared determined and declared that the borders would not be allowed to be touched. There was calm, but strong monarchist excitement. The defense of the borders and national identity were the main themes. Photo: Jovan Meksi
