A shiver of hope and certainty

Borisha receives the mandate to lead the party until the National Convention. Democratic deputies will be absent from the opening of the parliament of Kalashnikovs After many discussions, the National Council of the Democratic Party carried out all the prejudiced assumptions about the elections and appointed Berisha as interim chairman of the party. At least this solution, adopted unanimously, was easily understood and appreciated in the debates among the Democrats. At Monday’s meeting of the Council, it was clearly stated that, despite Berisha’s resignation from the post of President of the country, the party’s top leaders considered it essential for him to return to the helm of the PD until the National Convention is held. This high forum of the Democrats is expected to take place in early October, where a full analysis of the electoral defeat will be made. According to comments made in the hall, Berisha will be charged with organizing the party and unifying its ranks, at a time when the right-wing political force is in deep crisis after losing power. At the same time, it was emphasized that Democratic deputies will be absent from the opening session of parliament, described by many speakers as the “parliament of Kalashnikovs.” The PD National Council examines the causes of the election defeat. The National Convention will be held in early October.

Parliament was blocked by the socialists

The Presidium spokesperson reacts to speculation in the left-wing press Çatin J. the old battered man was not the representation of the 2,104 villages by the government and its prime ministers. In the PMM, the expected arrival of representatives from the OSE and international actors was heard, but nothing was done by the government for the prime minister and for the representation of structures in the center and the periphery. The Security Council of the Democratic Party, Pjetër Arbnori, declared yesterday that the postponement of the parliamentary session by the socialist majority was an unconstitutional and premeditated act. According to him, the opposition was ready to take part in parliament, but the obstacle was created by the socialists, who did not want open debate and transparency about the way institutions were being set up. Arbnori stressed that the blocking of parliament was clear proof of the lack of will for political cooperation and for respecting democratic rules. He added that the behavior of the majority showed that the new power was being built on excluding the opponent and not on institutional dialogue.

Tomorrow, the parliament of Kalashnikovs

President Berisha signs the decree Democrats will not be present at the swearing-in of the government that emerged from the smoke-scented parliament hall One day before the new parliament is due to meet, the Blue headquarters addressed public opinion yesterday with a strong statement denouncing the climate of violence and pressure in which the new legislature is beginning. According to Democratic leaders, institutions are being born under the threat of weapons and not of free vote. The statement says that the opposition cannot legitimize by its presence a process which, according to it, is the product of manipulation, terror, and the distortion of the citizens’ will. For this reason, its deputies will boycott the first session. At the same time, President Berisha has signed the decree for the convening of parliament, respecting the constitutional deadlines. This move was accompanied by strong criticism of the new majority, which is being held responsible for the political tension and insecurity in the country. The rhetoric used by PD leaders presents the new parliament as emerging from a militarized reality, symbolically called the “parliament of Kalashnikovs”.
