Meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic Party
Athens promises understanding and relations with Tirana
Today at 10:00 a.m. the Presidency of the PD meets to discuss the current situation in the country and the measures to address it. Sali Berisha, in conversations with journalists, has made it known that this meeting will analyze the current situation, as well as the shift of the new government toward full unconstitutionality in violation of the President’s declaration on the Government of National Reconciliation and the other powers. Concrete proposals will be made and decisions taken on the further stance of the opposition.
The responses of Mr. Pangalos and some Greek analysts to the harsh words of recent days about Albania and this country were the only major event in Albanian journalism yesterday, and newspapers devoted much of their front pages down to the last page to them. In addition, Mr. Pangalos and the Greek media underlined that Greece is ready to help Albania in this period, but not with insulting tones and formulas. Representatives of the Greek government spoke of mutual understanding and the restoration of a more normal relationship between the two countries.
Referring to the statements of the Greek Foreign Minister, it was emphasized that the return of illegal Albanian migrants from Greece cannot be considered a “sweep,” but part of normal legal procedures. He stated that the Greek side is interested in stability in Albania and in the functioning of institutions. Likewise, it was announced that the opening of the Greek consulate in Vlorë has been postponed to another time.
At the same time, it was announced that the agreement has been signed for the seasonal employment of Albanian citizens in Greece, which is presented as a practical step in easing bilateral relations. The newspaper links this development with the recent political debates and with the reactions of the Albanian public opinion to the Greek statements.

The Nano government violates the Rome conditions
PD issues explanation about the unlawful purge of the administration
Restoring order-
a condition for preserving democracy
The PD described the latest developments being carried out by the Nano government regarding orders to administrative employees as a purge campaign that is contrary to the Rome agreements. According to Democratic representatives, the government is using its position to selectively remove civil servants from the administration, undermining the standards of the rule of law and the political climate in the country.
In this reaction, the Democratic Party demanded public explanations and the immediate halting of arbitrary actions. It warned that any attack on the administration and institutions outside the legal framework harms efforts to normalize political life and to implement international commitments.
As emphasized in the statement, preserving order and democracy requires respect for political agreements and the end of practices that generate new tensions.
