Yesterday, from early morning, protesters had gone out to block the main roads, as was also the case in Vlorë. Opposition trade unionists note that by midday Fier had joined Vlorë, part of Lushnje, Saranda, etc. Later the whole of Albania became involved in the protest. Thus in Tirana too, under the direction of the PD vice-chairman Ali Spahia, around 500 people were in front of the PD headquarters preparing to block the main road with vehicles. Meanwhile, the trade unionists of Elbasan were gathering 31 buses to leave toward Kavajë, where they had decided to block the national road. Likewise, under the chairmanship of Sabri Godo, more than 300 people had gathered in Fier where they had decided to block the road to Vlorë. In any case, the gathering of the PD in front of the headquarters was also averted. In Tirana, later that evening, all roads were blocked by students and strikers. In Vlorë all the protesters, especially those from the commissariats, moved through the main streets. Throughout the day there were incidents with the police and with some PS militants. To end the protest, the Vlorë police intervened by force. Large police forces struck the protesters and strikers who were in the city center with rubber batons. It is learned that the chairman of the PD branch in this district was seriously injured during the clash with the police. At least 13 people were taken to the Vlorë hospital with various head and body injuries. Among the more seriously injured is also the PD activist Sokol Fino. Meanwhile, last night opposition representatives declared that the protest would continue today throughout the country and that it would become even harsher.
