The government takes over VFA

One day after the prosecutor’s charges and measures, Allmuça accepts the administrators until the Constitutional Court’s decision “With this signature the network of Shefrit’s carpets is also closed,” declared Fmunda Arapi. The president of the company Vebi Alimuça says that the group of administrators will remain in the property of this company until the day of the Constitutional Court’s decision and collect the foreign money for transparency Nano’s black 100 days 100 hours after the officials responsible in Nano’s cabinet, they again recorded the government’s “successful” enterprise in Albania. It is moving increasingly toward direct action, forcibly taking private property and premises. More and more openly, and not through arbitration, but by means of a “task force” that includes the police, it overcomes resistance and seizes the property of Albanians. This happened yesterday with the Kavaja branch of the company “Vefa”, where the whole story of taking this firm hostage follows the former example for Albania. We are witnesses and guarantors of the infamous scenario with which the government and the highest state authorities are leading the country toward catastrophe. As a first rule, the government is setting the machinery of the administration and the police in motion in order to attack private property. Protection through legal procedure is being replaced by open political arbitrariness and state violence. After 9:00 yesterday morning, near the building of the company “Vefa” in central Tirana, numerous police forces and representatives of state structures were seen. According to witnesses, the operation was carried out in a demonstrative manner and with visible forces present. At the entrance to the building there was tension and verbal clashes between company people and the authorities seeking to take control of the premises. In the decision for the intervention, according to public statements, various structures are involved, including the prosecutor’s office and the law-and-order bodies. In this way, the government of Fatos Nano is giving itself the right to enter private companies by force, before the court speaks and before there is a final constitutional decision. In the office of the company “Vefa”, its president Vebi Alimuça stated that the administrators will be accepted only until the Constitutional Court’s decision. According to him, any action beyond that period will be considered illegal and contrary to ownership rights. He also requested that all financial operations and collections be carried out with full transparency. In the reactions that followed, it was emphasized that the network of Shefrit’s carpets is also being shut down. “With this signature the network of Shefrit’s carpets is also closed,” declared Ermunda Arapi. This statement was made at a moment of high political and economic tension, where the issue of pyramid firms remains an open wound for Albanian society. Today, the great strike of local government Local elected officials protest against the communist backlash and provocation Today at set times the mayors will stop working, a passive protest to oppose the communist backlash and the central government’s interference in their powers. The protest has been announced as an institutional reaction to the measures being taken against local elected officials. In a public statement, local representatives stressed that the government is seeking to dismantle local autonomy and replace it with political control from the center. They consider this an attack on pluralism and a backward step in democratic standards. In many cities across the country, local administrations are expected to temporarily limit their activity, while protests will take place peacefully. Organizers have called for calm and for the preservation of order throughout the day of protest.
