The police hostage of the government

Officers of the “Shqiponja” squad, the mobile force of the police, have wounded Tane Vrasmasi and Smail Agaraj with their weapons. The government has hidden the reasons for this scandal. Was such a serious event, with consequences even leading to death, which occurred in the center of the capital and remained unresolved for about 24 hours, being unraveled mostly as a result of such guilt or of very banal mistakes at a mid-level administrative level? Or is a state crime being concealed? That remains to be seen, but what is of particular importance is that, with the crude and vulgar admission based on fabrications by the chief of Police Station No. 1, Ali Hajrlliu, the police have fallen into the hands of the government. Tane Vrasmasi and Smail Agarai were wounded yesterday? A police session with the mobile force’s weapons. According to official police figures, it has been declared that Vrasmasi fired with a weapon of his own. The truth appears different. No one can believe that the mobile police forces fired weapons in order to injure themselves. The history of concealing the event and then bringing it into the public sphere is linked to the fact that in the early hours the police and the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior tried to cover up the event. Smail Agaraj was seriously wounded, while Tane Vrasmasi remained killed[?] or seriously wounded[?]. In the first official versions, a clash was mentioned, but the evidence gathered and the way the case was handled point to an internal police scandal and to the government’s involvement in hiding it. They were kept away from public information for many hours, while the institutions gave no full explanations. Responsibility falls on the leadership structures of the police and the Ministry of the Interior. On page 5
