Kavaja in the square with Berisha
Today marks the seventh anniversary of the first PD rally in the anti-communist city. Kavaja is unveiling the date of the new elections
Hundreds of peace doves will be released into the rally square. Today the people of Kavaja will demonstrate not only for themselves, but for all of Albania
The government of misery for Albanians
On the fourth day of the electoral campaign, Albanians are on the move to protest against the government of misery. Hopes for the country's future are now tied to the outcome of the 29 June elections. No one hides it anymore: just as in 1990, as an unknown figure under a dictatorship, Albanians are now on the fourth day of the electoral campaign, when everyone is thinking about tomorrow. For the right-wing force and for Mr. Sali Berisha, who has become a symbol of resistance and hope for the Albanian people.
Despite efforts to block and sabotage this campaign, free people are showing more and more determination every day. In Kavaja, in the city that opened the first doors of the democratic movement, today thousands of citizens will gather to remember the historic rally of seven years ago and to send a clear message for the future.
Former President Sali Berisha will also take part in this gathering. He is expected to greet the citizens and emphasize that without free elections there is no real democracy. Kavaja remains a symbol of anti-communist resistance and of the European aspirations of Albanians.

The government has the jurists on hunger strike
425 judges in Tirana today
The protest of Albanian jurists is escalating. As a sign of reaction to the ongoing violence and threats against justice, 425 jurists will begin a hunger strike in Tirana.
This unprecedented action comes after a series of pressures on judges and prosecutors, who are denouncing political interference and obstacles in carrying out their duties. The organizers say this is a call for national and international awareness.
At the same time, representatives of the justice system are demanding guarantees for the independence of institutions and for the protection of the law.
