Berisha congratulates Gjukanović
After the victory of the reformist coalition in Montenegro
The coalition's victory preserves the general elections in the progressive aspirations of Montenegro. In his speech after being elected to the head of Montenegro, Gjukanović described the victory of the independent progressives as a democratic approach. “Montenegro has paid dearly and dramatically in recent years for keeping power and institutions above the torrent of a chaotic nationalism and destruction. Now, with the victory of the reformists, the coalition “Let's Live Better” has reduced the risk of falling again into this situation,” he said.
“This great success was a victory for governing that is aligned with the honest work of our people. It was also a victory for liberal forces and the coalition of partners who support stability in the region,” he said.
The commentary on the success of the reformists in Montenegro and its impact on regional politics takes an important place in today's European newspaper.
This is a clear vote against the messages of the Milošević regime and its militarist wing. The final and very necessary step by Milo Gjukanović would be to focus on consolidating the Serbian state through parliamentary and presidential elections, and perhaps this is the moment for the President of Montenegro to draw the conclusions of these elections and take the decision for Montenegro's independence, while using the necessary pro-Western strategies to also stop a new war in the Balkans. The victory of the progressives has also left Mira Marković and her supporters disappointed this time, as they have considered Montenegro to be a permanent organism of orders from Belgrade and not a political organism belonging to its citizens.”
The chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Sali Berisha, has sent a telegram to the new President of Montenegro, Mr. Milo Gjukanović, congratulating him on his victory.
Mr. Berisha's telegram addressed to Mr. Gjukanović has the following content:
“Your Excellency,
I was pleased to learn of the victory of the coalition “Let's Live Better” in the presidential elections of Montenegro.
Please accept my warmest and sincerest congratulations on this victory and my congratulations on your re-election to the post of President of Montenegro.
This victory is an encouragement for reformist forces not only in Montenegro and Yugoslavia, but also an inspiration for all democratic forces in the region.
I am convinced that your re-election to this high office serves the interests of Montenegro and accelerates the region's integration processes into Europe.
Wishing you continued success in carrying out your duty, please accept, Your Excellency, the expression of my highest consideration”

Kosovo toward an enclave?
This was the first headline in
the Morning when the doors of
closure were interrupted by Serbian
soldiers. On the other hand, it became clear that
there could be a collapsed shelter
because above this there is an
explosion that is happening.
Today, the situation is more dangerous.
In some cases, in the divided areas of
Kosovo, not only has a short burst of
soldiers been enough. Where they are
in the outskirts of the cities, the army has
also carried out a special operation,
which it has focused on stopping the
movement of people.
The Albanian government has made it clear
that it will oppose any idea of
dividing Kosovo, even if it comes in the form of enclaves.
According to recent assessments,
Albanians are facing a change in Belgrade's
strategy, which is trying to bring about on the ground
de facto division and isolation of the
Albanian population.
The areas of Drenica, Dukagjin and
the regions near the Albanian border are
experiencing ongoing cleansing, blockades and
terrorization. If this continues, the risk
of creating isolated Albanian pockets becomes
real.
Analysts emphasize that a solution
with enclaves would be unacceptable
for Kosovo Albanians and would
legitimize the violent policy of the Serb
regime.
What is needed is international intervention,
political pressure and support for the civilian population that
is experiencing the consequences of war and
ethnic cleansing.
