The parties of the “Union for Democracy” announced yesterday that they were institutionalizing their coalition. This is an important moment for this political grouping in its determined resistance to the left-wing coalition in power. On this occasion, all the parties in the political grouping “Union for Democracy” assume their responsibilities and, moreover, share them, consolidating their unity across all political quarters, including the allocation of electoral districts and their superimposition in all cases by the grouping. The move by the real right-wing opposition in Albania further serves to institutionalize it as a practical front against crime, violence, smuggling, and corruption, which have engulfed the country since the Socialists came to power. Consolidating the opposition is not merely a political spectacle, but a stronger rekindling of the demand to confront the greatest power and, through it, the current government, its other segments, and the institutions and forces acting to liquidate Albania’s opposition. Part of all this is that, since we had joined forces in valuable cooperation, it also constitutes the greatest political force in the country. It is only natural that this overwhelming part of Albanian politics should also become responsible, just as it is the target of the current government’s attacks, with all the brutality and violence that characterize it. Therefore, resistance must also be coordinated with all the other acts of the agreement, and all political forces must commit themselves precisely to the decision to remove the current government. No political agreement can be sustainable without a major goal at its foundation. The technical regulator of the agreement is an easy matter when the political grouping’s great aspirations are fulfilled. In no other way can the goal be achieved except through cooperation founded on democratic will, in order to secure a better, more peaceful life for the country. Throughout a year of government, the left-wing coalition has on several occasions launched frenzied campaigns against the right-wing parties and sought to eliminate genuine right-wing forces from leadership positions within those parties. A typical case was the National Front Congress, where secret service and police forces were used as voters by clans interested in serving the governing coalition. Likewise, the fake right wing of the Albanian political spectrum has also installed a prominent opposition within the government, whose members are right-wing in name only, while their activities are entirely in favor of extending the rule of violence. The current government is using the same approach within the left-wing coalition as well.
