“Bashkimi për Demokraci” denounces Prime Minister Fatos Nano for the purchase he is making, through Gazmend Demi, of the brandy factory belonging to the “M. Leka” company, at one third of its price. At a series of press conferences, “Bashkimi për Demokraci” has denounced here before you the removal from the list and concealment by Prime Minister Nano of the names of 182 MPs, ministers, deputy ministers and senior PS officials who, in violation of government decisions, together with their in-laws and associates, have stolen around 120 million dollars and also transferred sums from the frozen deposits of the usurious companies to foreign banks. We have denounced Minister Malaj before you as a manager and director of studies at the usurious companies “Cenaj” and “Global Food”; we have denounced him as a thief who stole 720 thousand dollars from the Cenaj company in his own name and that of Ble?ar Comos, and, together with others, around 2 million dollars from other people, according to irrefutable documents. We have denounced Malaj for buying, with money from the “Cenaj” company and by bribing an official of the privatization agency, the Vlorë Cold Storage Facility under the name of a cousin of his, Divjandri, after he became a minister. This government bandit threatened at the latest meeting of the PS parliamentary group to have PS MPs physically eliminated by his gangs during the review of the dossier submitted by President Meidani. At our press conferences, we have denounced F. Arapi as a manager of the “Benaj” company and as someone who benefited by 130 thousand dollars from that company, and who, together with his brother and brother-in-law, Arapi, stole a quarter of a million dollars from it. We have denounced Kristo Goxhi for transferring 520 million drachmas from the “Cenaj” company to Greece, and we have documents concerning transfers totaling 1 billion and 200 million drachmas to Greek banks. We have denounced the PS, which received 51,000 thousand dollars from Driza alone in 1996 for the illegal printing abroad of securities; and the newspaper “ZP” for the 420 thousand dollars it received from the companies “Gjallica”, “Xhaferri”, “Populli” and “Vefa”. We have denounced Gjinushi, who together with his sister stole money in advance from the companies “Gjallica” and “Cenaj”—money belonging to them amounting to around 120 million lire and 50 thousand dollars; Dokle, who received 150 thousand dollars directly from “Gjallica” and “Vefa” through a career-connected family member; and Fino, for the 120 thousand dollars he received from “Gjallica” and from a biet? of Adipretrol, as well as Malaj together with Gjallica, which is why they burned it. But today we are before you because we have also denounced that the current government officials, headed by Fatos Nano, had long prepared a scheme to buy all the profitable assets of the usurious companies with the dirty money earned and stolen from these companies. We have counterabres and have seen the money stolen in this [unclear]. In this race of thievery, Prime Minister Nano will never give way; but he took the lead, this time not with Malaj but with his other lieutenant, Gazmend Demi, who launched the purchase of these properties. For this, the Prime Minister chose as the first acquisition the “M. Leka” brandy factory, for 3.2 million dollars, or one third of its real value; an international thief implicated in this robbery and the thieves [received] 700 thousand dollars from this purchase, but he asked them for the government, which has decided that the company “Sikertis” from kyemë ne vete se tij. By denouncing Prime Minister Nano for these shameful, illegal acts, “Bashkimi për Demokraci” warns the Albanian political mafia and the buyers of the assets of the usurious companies that every act of sale and purchase of these assets will be considered theft and robbery, and those responsible will be held legally accountable.
