Berisha: We will win the battle
Fatos Nano’s gang in parliament votes to lift the opposition leader’s immunity. The neo-communist clique wants to drown Albania in blood
Democrats determined to make the most sublime sacrifice. Powerful protest rallies in Shkodër, Korçë and Kavajë. “Let’s drive Fatos Nano out” throughout Albania
Dr. S. Berisha. “Let’s drive Fatos Nano out. NANO RESIGN IMMEDIATELY”
The vote we had forgotten
By Sami NEZA
Naturally, unlike the anti-Berisha communist zeal that now thrives with full enjoyment in the catacombs of the former red security services of Tirana and, even more wildly, across the world, physically hidden after 26 years in Berisha and more at hand to be stitched together and won. The first theses and those that followed have clearly been (and the deceitful media with which they were made up for the day, the struggle and the rest) that President Berisha was supposedly the main culprit for the events of 14 September and all the accusations against him. At least for that day in the square. No one could have been clearer, more just and more moral than the man when he said that “I have come here to do what my people do”, a people that had risen to their feet after the century’s murder of Azem Hajdari. And the word was not excessive, it was not inflated. As sharp as it was clear and just, Berisha’s analysis of 13 September was, where, while considering Hajdari’s killing not an act of revenge from a police operation, but a genuine political crime, with all that this implied, it also named the inspirer, director and order-giver of the crime. Fatos Nano.
That day and night after the rally of 13 September, the opposition voice, with peace, added clearly and strongly that this was the direction protest should continue in. It was a cry demanding “let’s drive Fatos Nano out”, and no one could convince Albanians that the opposition was to blame for this “call”. It was the natural popular revolt demanding the resignation of the cause of the catastrophe. That was the first point. The second is related to Berisha’s Parliamentary Immunity Council. If immunity is lifted, what is gained? Is calm achieved? Is the revolt stopped? Is the crime erased? On the contrary! But in the vengeful mindset of a clique that governs in fear and distress, reason is not asked for. The goal is the political annihilation of the opponent. And at this point, yesterday’s vote in the Assembly remains a grim document of our times.
No one can hope that by striking the opposition and its leader the country’s wounds will be healed. On the contrary, they open wider. All the more so when public opinion has understood that before us is a government that is kept on its feet only by pressure, police and support from crime. Therefore the opposition protest has remained the only language of freedom.

Extraordinary Meeting of the PD Presidency
The Front of Refusal of
Dictatorship must be put in place
Proposed expansion of the PD presidency and intensification of protests
The Presidency of the Democratic Party of Albania
held an extraordinary meeting tonight, in which,
alongside an analysis of the situation created after the killing of Azem Haj-
dari and the terror being exercised by the
neo-communist regime against the opposition,
it decided to issue this statement:
The PD denounces with the greatest severity
the shameful political and anti-
constitutional act of 18 September carried out by
the oppressed social-communist majority,
under the direction of Fatos Nano and with
the savage violence of his police. The opposition
has been targeted for purely political reasons. In this context,
yesterday’s act to lift the immunity of Dr. Sali Berisha,
without any evidence, without any accusation, without any
proof, based solely on a blind and primitive anti-Albanian hatred,
is undoubtedly an unprecedented act, condemnable
by every honest Albanian and by European public opinion as a whole.
Today’s yesterday is the strongest and most
motivated call for the creation of
the Front of Refusal of Dictatorship, headed by the
Democratic Party, which will mobilize all the democratic potential of
Albanian society for the overthrow of this
anti-democratic and anti-national regime.
PD calls on every statesman, institution and
association to respond to its summons.
Let us all unite in the front of re-
fusal of dictatorship.
Proposed expansion of the PD presidency and intensification of protests
Today an extraordinary meeting of the National Council was held for the analysis of
the situation created after the killing of Azem Haj-
dari. The Presidency, after examining the proposals of
members, decided to hold an extraordinary meeting tomorrow of the National
Council, where the PD Presidency will also be expanded
with new members, to give
the party new strength and energy to
lead the great popular and national protests for the overthrow of the anti-
Albanian government of Fatos Nano. At 20:00
it will hold its rally for
the overthrow of the anti-Albanian and anti-
people government in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana.
