According to him, this request comes as a result of recent developments and the lack of political dialogue in the country.

The majority is violating the Constitution

Protection of the Istanbul Convention, lowering the price of fuel, and compensation for former politically persecuted people are the main issues awaiting solutions from senior officials in the new parliamentary session. These were the topics discussed by the opposition leader, Sali Berisha, at yesterday’s press conference. Starting from the concern that the country is in a deep crisis, Mr. Berisha emphasized that the government is failing at a very high speed. “The economy is in free fall, public finances are completely uncontrolled, and the state guarantees neither order, nor peace, nor security for citizens. If we refer to economic indicators, if we refer to order and security, the situation is dramatic,” said the head of the opposition. He accused the government of not using resources and the country’s position in the Kosovo issue efficiently, but instead favoring its own client base. “The official government has systematically refused cooperation with the opposition and has created an insurmountable wall. It does not see Kosovo as a major national issue, but as an opportunity to strengthen its own power,” Berisha said. According to him, the majority is violating the Constitution and behaving arbitrarily. “Parliament cannot be reduced to a notary for government decisions while citizens’ interests remain unrepresented. The majority is using every means to silence the opposition and block political debate,” he said. In the end, he called for institutions to take responsibility and for the way to be opened toward real solutions to the country’s problems.
