By Mujë Buçpapaj The Constitution presented by the PS and its satellites in the referendum constitutes the most anti-national and anti-Albanian act undertaken by this party since taking power, after the appointment to office of the officials who bloodied Albania in the first elections of March 1997. What we call the “generation” of the constitution is none other than the flock of politicians and propagandists from the blacklists, who, frightened by the power of free opinion, are now serving this old constitution under a new name. They are the very same people from the communist nomenklatura, the same ones who voted against pluralism and the first pluralist constitution, the same ones who today seek to replace its democratic spirit with a spirit of revenge, vengeance and institutional destruction. In this sense, today’s constitutional project is more a manifesto of the return to the past than an agreement for the future. It was not born from dialogue, but from imposition; it did not come from the need for a state, but from the desire for control; it does not seek national reconciliation, but political submission. For this reason, what is happening with this rampant propaganda is nothing other than a desperate attempt to cover up the moral and political crisis of power. And, like any such attempt, it is destined to fail in the face of the citizens’ memory and their rejection. M. BUÇPAPAJ

The leadership of the PDSSH branch of Vrapsht announces that the Vrapsht branch has dismissed and later appointed the chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania branch in Vrapsht. Mr. Vullnet Kule has been elected chairman. The decision is in support of Article 17 of the PDSH statute. The decision has been sent by post to the offices of the Democratic Party in the center. Any action taken on 13.06.1998 with Mr. Vullnet Kule is invalid; any move after that date by the PDSH in the Vrapsht branch does not represent the right-wing forces of Vrapsht.
