The December of the overthrow of the communists returns

Tirana is bursting into the streets and squares of protest in remembrance of the December Movement that overthrew the dictatorship. Thousands of democrats in December warn the government that killed Azem Hajdari The December of the overthrow of the communists returns Berisha: “Today, this December, juell[?] as eight years ago, dawns with prisons and political prisoners, as well as without the defender of freedoms, Azem Hajdari” Today is the day of the oath. Tirana and Albania are turning into the metropolises of democracy. That government, overthrown on 14 September, will continue to make decisions that seem ridiculous until it takes flight from this land. The city is preparing to welcome, for the umpteenth time, the failed right-wing proletarian experiment with the supposed yesterday’s communist, today the hoarse opponent[?] of Azem Hajdari. Whoever remembers may perhaps recall that the reason for Berisha’s trip to Brussels was the survival of the new government of Fatos Nano-Majko, a clash of dubious allies who put him at the head of the country. But what happened? The entire scene of Albanian politics, as well as its political emigration, has fallen into an inexplicable lethargy. The only opposition force has set the entire Albanian territory in motion ever since the 12 September assassination attempt on Hajdari. Faced with it stands a somewhat diminished government, in conditions indescribable for the interests of the time. With the coming to power of the new neo-communist majority in Albania, some had thought that the intoxication and inertia of democracy would last for a long time. But time shows something entirely different. The political situation after the killing of Azem Hajdari and the magnificent demonstration of 14 September appears completely different, and the state structures have lost their orientation. The aspirations of every Albanian who loves freedom are opposed by every means of inhumanity. This new majority of democracy plagiarists has come under the pressure of popular revolt. The new government and its political staff are experiencing an unprecedented situation like never before. In two months of government it has produced only frightening events for Albania and has made the country’s climate completely opposite to that of its beginning. On 20 September the country experienced a day of unprecedented thunder against the government tied to crime, a link that has shaken the foundations of its institutions. A government whose political base is violence cannot even walk on its own declared path. 98 days of government have passed in dramatic days with prisons and political fugitives and with a tense, unprecedented situation. Albania is experiencing this December as never before, 8 years ago. The student atmosphere is, as always, charged with the great motto of freedom. Albanian students are ready and the streets of the capital await the student hurricane of this December. Foreign analysts must have begun to suspect that the neo-communist government of Majko has not fulfilled a single one of its promises. Albania stands on the brink of several peak moments. The closure of universities and secondary schools has served as a warning to everyone. Young people, especially students, are preparing for a political confrontation that could involve the whole country. Albania is naturally approaching 9 December, the most important part of which has turned into an irresponsible deadline. Challenges may come from all sides and affect not only students but also high school pupils, who have always known how to be at the forefront of democratic issues. It cannot be said that this government has a stable majority before the coming days. Albania and Albanians hate it for the lack of responsibility and cynicism with which it has governed these two months. Tirana and Albania are turning into the metropolises of democracy. That government, overthrown on 14 September, will continue to make decisions that seem ridiculous until it takes flight from this land.
