PD, conditions for testifying about the killing of Azem Hajdari
The party, at the tribunal for uncovering the truth about the murder of its MP, accepts no blocking of the prosecutor’s actions. It publicly called directly on the opposition in Albania, but for the creation of an independent investigative group.
To contribute to uncovering the truth about the killing of its MP, it has submitted to no one and to no decision of the prosecutor’s office, but to the creation of an independent investigative group.

restoration of order
In a statement issued with 49 po[?] against Sunday, the Democratic Party informed public opinion that, in order to give testimony regarding the killing of Azem Hajdari, it is calling for the building of a serious framework and guarantees for an impartial investigation. According to this statement, this political force considers the creation of an independent investigative group essential, in which well-known specialists and international representatives should be included.
The text says that “the PD calls on public opinion and all state structures to contribute to clarifying this serious event, but it cannot accept any form of pressure or political blackmail.” It is also emphasized that testimony cannot be given under conditions of a lack of trust in the current investigative bodies.
The statement continues with strong criticism of the government and law-enforcement bodies, which, according to it, have failed to guarantee security and clarify the event. For this reason, full transparency and cooperation with external actors is demanded.

The rectors’ plan to stop the strike
Opposition MPs and senior PD representatives beaten by the police
Deputy Chair of the Rectors’ Conference, Dean Prof. Ylli Vejsiu, speaks.
The politicization of public life, with the radicalization of the two poles and the disregard for the moderating element, is harming the creation of a tradition of a pluralist parliament in our country. For this reason, the deans of the universities are working to bring the political sides closer by presenting their compromise platforms for resolving the crisis. This is what the Rectors’ Conference has done, which, through its deputy chair, has made such a platform public.
The political poles have also reacted strongly to this platform, through which a possibility of compromise is being offered. Among other things, this platform states that “after a speech by the leader of the party that organized the protest, [..] the crowd should be divided not into several groups or categories of protesters, but according to parties or political groupings, presenting the police with the names of the responsible persons one by one. On the basis of this police [..] a possibility of compromise is being offered...”
