Fini: the Albanian state must be separated from crime

Berlusconi: "How can this be interpreted so forcefully? As if these were not matters for parliament, as the government argues?" Fini: the Albanian state must be separated from crime The leader of the Italian opposition welcomes Italy's and Europe's warnings to the Albanian government. Fight the mafia, or there will be no aid. Accepts the opposition's package for public order Berlusconi: “How can this be interpreted so forcefully? As if these were not matters for parliament, as the government argues? They are serious and must be addressed not only in the press but also by European politics in order to give a clear answer. Otherwise?!” The union with 50 percent government services and parliamentary power. For a year now, Albania has seen only a worsening of public order and crime. So much so that there are ever more voices in Italy calling for any aid to Albania to be suspended. For this reason, and for the words spoken a few days ago by the Italian foreign minister, Lamberto Dini, about the situation created in our country, there has been a strong echo in the Italian press. The prestigious Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera” yesterday devoted special space to the statements made by the head of Italian diplomacy and to the debate that has developed in Italy about Albania. In an editorial, the newspaper quotes the head of the Italian opposition, Gianfranco Fini, according to whom “there is no exaggeration in the expressions used by Minister Dini,” while adding that “the Albanian government must only provide convincing proof of a completely new and clear attitude against criminality.” Fini says that Albania “cannot continue to remain a country conditioned by ties between government power and criminal organizations,” adding that “Europe cannot be asked to continue aid without setting strong conditions.” According to him, the Albanian government must take concrete steps against gangs and trafficking if it wants to retain international support. He also praises the stance of the Albanian opposition for the restoration of order and the strengthening of the rule of law. Today and tomorrow, further developments are expected in the Italian-Albanian political debate concerning the situation of public order and security in Albania.
