Berisha: Albanians united against any aggression
“No government can confront Albanians in both and three, therefore I also express my full conviction that if there is a possible aggression, Albanians of all three worlds will be united and will give the response that the butcher of the Balkans deserves”

If any merit is to be credited to Albania in the whole of this political-diplomatic disgrace, it is only that of the last-minute pullback. After having definitively pushed forward the task of “moralizing” those who do not deserve it, two weeks ago in Rambouillet, Prime Minister Pandeli Majko has in recent days been trying to assure the country that Albania will not sign the agreement without the consent of the Kosovar party. Instead of calming us with the voice of a visionary leader, he asks us to applaud a belated discovery: that the Albanian delegation should have left Rambouillet long ago, as soon as it became clear that its political cost was falling only on the Albanians.
In truth, the problem here lies not at all with Majko, but with the absence of a serious state policy in Tirana. The Albanian prime minister has been placed before events like a late spectator, with no initiative, no national backbone, and no clear logic for Albanian interests. His official Albania has always moved after events, not before them. As a result, today’s words sound more like justification than a position.
If Kosovo was an issue that required clarity and responsibility, official Tirana did the opposite: hesitation, uncertainty, and a diplomatic servility unbecoming to anyone, even less so to a state that claims to represent the national interest. This is why “Majko’s Rambouillet” is now in Tirana: because its spirit of unexplained compromise, hesitation, and lack of dignity is showing more strongly here than there.
