Police and SHIK agents continue to detain volunteers arriving from the West to fight in Kosovo.
Sources at the port of Durrës report that there have also been cases in the past two days when they were turned back, or detained at the port police checkpoints and then in the city.
The Tirana press published yesterday a letter from some of the victims of this political and anti-Albanian screening carried out by sections of the government against UÇK soldiers. Police and SHIK agents, accompanied by two other people from Kosovo, had turned back a large number of UÇK soldiers. A few days ago, they were forced to change their route and return via the port of Vlorë, then continue through the UÇK’s military channels inside Kosovo, where they themselves had sought to go.
The stance of state institutions toward those arriving from the West runs counter to the plight of Kosovo Albanians, who are facing the Serbian terrorist military machine. The government and SHIK are trying to reduce as much as possible the number of soldiers in UÇK units, which have so far also achieved military successes. The creation of a political police force targeting volunteers continues another effort by the left-wing authorities in the country to sabotage, by every means and method, the Albanian resistance and the cause of Kosovo.
